when i say my sadness comes in waves, i don’t mean they meet me at the shoreline. i don’t mean i wave them goodbye as they curl back into the ocean. when i say my sadness comes in waves, i mean they drown me. i mean they throw me backwards then pull me down to the seafloor. i mean i cant breathe let alone scream for help. i mean when they leave, they leave me with water in my lungs. i mean when i am dry, i am not thankful. i mean, i still do not breathe.
