Beyond the Kitchen Doors

Damn dude. Looks like you did the right thing by being upfront about the life. Thats what I always did. To be brutally honest, if she ran away after reading a list, she wouldn't have stayed long if she hadn't. It sucks, but you’ve got to know where you stand in your life. I always put my career first and was upfront about that when I met someone. 

 I was with my ex for 5 years. While we we’re together, I was a line cook, a sous chef, a chef de cuisine, and an exec chef. At times, it was very difficult but he understood, somewhat. In the end we just wanted different things. Luckily I'm with someone now thats a baker, so he gets it. 

TL;DR: You need to find the person thats wiling to be by your side in this life we chose. Its very hard, but the rewards are great. That girl bounced without ever giving anything a chance. You need to chose whats best for you: go after the girl and sacrifice your career? Or let that one go, focus on cooking, and find someone who understands.
