[Homemade] Adobo pork tacos with guacamole #FoodPorn . via diabetodan
I really want to try some homemade Mac-n-cheese soon. I have heard adding a little Dijon mustard to the cheese sauce it can add to the flavor. Cheddar, fontina and Parmesan can make a great mix as well
Basic knife skills can make the difference between the success of failure of a dish. Learning how to dice an onion is one of the building blocks of cooking. Many sauces use diced onions. Making fresh homemade salsa can teach basic knife skills. A few roma tomatoes, a small onion, some parsley and lime can make a killer salsa.

Having a good, sturdy chef’s knife in the kitchen can make a world of difference. I work in a professional kitchen so we have a Cutco set. This is a great knife and it has kept its edge for the past year I have been using it. If you can not justify buying a full set, just pick up a chef’s knife. It can speed up chopping and help you learn propped knife skills.
Making great food doesn’t require a culinary degree, formal training, or any people to cook for. All it takes is a few basic skills, a lot of patience, and some inspiration. I’m starting this blog so it can (hopefully) be inspiration for someone to learn how to cook more than 74¢ Mac-n-cheese or lonely man dinners.
