I'm kinda obsessed with red guy and how he has a reoccurring motif of never belonging. It's just a really fun way to add depth to a flat, 'monotone' character that could have easily been left completely unexamined.
He's not a full puppet like the other two. His personality is a stark difference to duck and yellow guy's over the top characterisations. But everytime we see him interact with his own species, a point is made to show he's an outlier there too. Amongst his people, he is a whimsical dreamer who is over-emotional. And a nudist.
And twice now, red guy has 'broken free' from the house, only to realise he doesn't enjoy the new location he has found himself in either.
Even visually, he always looks a little too big for the set and hunches slightly to 'fit' better. It's as if he wandered into this world one day by total accident and none of it was really made with him in mind.
