What The Fuck Man

- Missa wears a blindfold for most of the story to try and combat EnderKing’s visual hallucinations, relying more on instinct and spidey-sense. Can’t get tortured via hallucinations if you can’t see at all. He’s a genius at this.

Just think about; Ek sets a trap for Phil, El Catrin tries to stop him but ends up in the villain hitting him worse than normal (the need to protect his family) now Missa fears that a villain will know his identity

The Ender King and Philza have already faced each other on the past multiple times.

he should have known better, been more prepared.

but he wasn't.

The enormous figure of Ek held Missa as if he were a rag doll. The enormous monster was comfortably attached to the top of a building while his husband seemed to be within an inch of his life, he was going to die, he was going to fall.

No if Philza had anything to say about it spreads his wings just to get right into the trap. The next thing he knows he is seeing nightmarish figures that shouldn't be there, he knows they aren't but he finds himself fighting them anyway one in particular fight back too strong he must defeat him, he knows he need, behind him this Missa if Phil defeats this creature he will be able to help his husband

The rest of the fight passes in a blur until he can hear Ek laughing in the distance and suddenly his cloudy head feels normal and more focused again, he is awakened from the remains of his hallucination by the sharp pain in his knuckles and the moans of pain beneath him

When the villain lowers his head to see the one behind the veil of hallucinations, ek's laughter becomes strident

Missa.

Missa, his mask is almost pulverized, is wearing a suit that it doesn't take long for him to recognize as that of his not-so-favorite vigilante and if his heart weren't already on the ground now it's shattered.

he's bleeding so much.

Missa is El Catrin.

The Missa he saw was not real but a trap.

I hit him hard.

Is that why he disappeared?

(i love madilyn mei's songs i'm cackling like a gremlin to have introduced someone to her!! i recommend "flesh and bone" it's short but one of my favorites and it's eerie in a good way)
