Unpopular opinion: Did you know that Kendratello (Kendra x Donatello) and Raphnita (Raphael x Sunita) are not canon!
Kendratello was considered canon by fans because of a vague, improvised line from one of the animators or something similar in the series, but this was debunked in the same live stream! Even so, fans insist on spreading false information, acting as if they've never watched the series (their relationship would certainly be toxic).
Raphita is not canon; the two characters never even interacted in the series—anything that has fake storyboards that they insist is canon. They are clearly fake simply because they lack dubbing, and whoever leaked the supposed storyboards never mentioned the original source.
Guys, understand, the only rule is no romance for the turtles and April.
Sorry, I felt like venting—
Repeat the same arguments I made in my TikTok video.
The creators were asked if they had any ideas for Kendra, and one of them gave a vague and improvised answer:
"No, but I think they were going like maybe dating or something… Kendra and Donnie."
This statement clearly sounds improvised and also feels like a discarded idea — most likely from a very early stage of production, before Kendra became a villain. I believe this was during the development of the characters and their relationships, but later the idea didn’t fit, so they decided to make Kendra a villain and the leader of the Purple Dragons.
Now, here’s why they wouldn’t work as a healthy couple:
At the beginning, Donnie showed admiration and respect for Kendra. He even wanted to join her group, because, in his eyes, she was someone inspiring.
Kendra took advantage of this and manipulated him, using his intelligence and technology for her own benefit.
After that, Donnie clearly developed resentment toward her, while Kendra continued to mock and antagonize him.
Let’s look at some moments where she used him:
1. Season 1, episode "The Purple Jacket"
She accepts Donnie into the group, only to reveal later that she never cared about him — only about his technology.
2. Season 2, episode "Breaking Purple"
She uses Shelldon for her own benefit, even though Shelldon is one of Donnie’s creations and shares a bond with him similar to a father-child relationship.
3. Season 1, episode "The Purple Game"
She manipulates Donnie into controlling a giant robot to attack his own brothers — purely to hurt him emotionally.
These examples clearly show that their relationship is built on resentment (from Donnie’s side) and manipulation/mockery (from Kendra’s side).
Because of this, it’s very hard to see them as a healthy couple. Even if Kendra had a redemption arc, it would be extremely difficult for Donnie to forgive everything she did — and even less likely for him to enter a romantic relationship with someone who hurt him so deeply.
Even the idea of them becoming allies would feel awkward, so a romantic relationship would be even more unrealistic.
Post-Krang Leo is someone who is utterly terrified of how loud and overwhelming his own feelings are, so running to safety makes perfect sense—even if it’s an artificial kind of peace. Writing Mina’s realization was heavy, but I really wanted to show that true healing doesn’t start until you stop hiding behind a mask.

CWs: Angst, Leo-centric, PTSD/trauma, emotional cheating, rebound relationship, mentions of traumatic flashbacks & nightmares, masking & forced positivity, breakups, and a somewhat hopeful ending. All characters are aged-up.
On paper, everything is perfect.
The fairy lights strung across Leo’s room cast a soft, ethereal glow over the walls. Mina is sitting on the edge of his bed, humming a quiet tune as the heavy, oversized fabric of his favorite blue hoodie rests across her lap. She is meticulously reinforcing the frayed cuffs, her needle darting in and out of the soft cotton.
When she ties the knot, she reaches over and finds his hand where it rests bare on the mattress beside her. She gives his knuckles a reassuring squeeze. She is gentle. Kind. Doesn’t ask him to be the fearless leader, and she doesn’t demand that he open up about the nightmares that still make him wake up in a cold sweat.
With Mina, it’s safe.
Quiet.
“Good as new,” she says softly, setting the hoodie aside and offering him a warm, uncomplicated smile. “You’ve been pushing yourself hard in training lately. You deserve a break.”
“Hey, what can I say? The world doesn’t save itself, hermosa,” Leo replies, his lips automatically curving into his signature smirk. He leans back against his pillows, throwing an arm over his head in a display of practiced, easygoing bravado. He then pulls her close, wrapping his hand around her waist.
But as his fingers settle against her hip, an icy jolt shoots up his spine.
His muscle memory plays a cruel trick on him—because his hand remembers a different waist. Another laugh. A love that didn’t sit quietly on the edge of a mattress, but one that demanded all of him, a raging hurricane that used to leave him breathless.
Leo kisses the top of Mina’s head. But as she rests her cheek against his plastron—right over the jagged scar left by the Krang—he just stares at the ceiling, feeling an overwhelming wave of guilt. She’s taking the world off his shoulders, but he is completely somewhere else …
It’s Friday night and Run of the Mill Pizza is a roar of clinking glasses, shouting yokai, and the rich scent of brick-oven cheese.
Leo sits across from Mina in the back booth. He’s leaning forward, his elbows on the table, his hands moving in wide, dramatic gestures as he narrates a story about the time he tried to teach Splinter how to use social media. The lesson ended with Splinter accidentally livestreaming himself napping for three hours and somehow gaining a hundred followers.
He’s laughing, his red face-stripes crinkling, playing the leading role of the happy, attentive boyfriend to absolute perfection. Then, Mina reaches across the table and takes his hand, weaving her fingers through his. Leo’s voice falters. He looks down at their joined hands, and the bustling noise of the restaurant fades into a dull, underwater hum.
His eyes drift past Mina’s shoulder, involuntarily zeroing in on the empty corner booth across the room. That was your booth. The place where you and Leo used to sit, hiding behind a menu while he stole toppings off your late and made terrible puns into your ear until you laughed so hard you cried.
“Leo?” Mina’s soft voice pulls him back to reality. She’s looking at him, her pretty, kind eyes clouded with a dawning sadness. “You went away again.”
“What? No way, I’m right here!” Leo forces a booming, energetic laugh, instantly squeezing her hand and flashing his brightest, most dazzling smile. “Just thinking about … uh, Hueso’s ridiculous tie. Truly, a fashion crime.”
Mina doesn’t laugh. She just looks at him, and the weight of his own deception makes Leo’s chest ache. He is matching silhouettes in the dark, trying to force Mina into a shape she doesn’t belong in, desperately trying to convince himself that he has moved on.
The rain has stopped by the time they walk into the park, leaving the air crisp and smelling of damp earth. The pathways gleam under the moonlight, reflecting the twisting branches of the trees above.
As Leo walks, his eyes shift restlessly toward the tree line. Every time a twig snaps, his combat instincts flare—but it’s not a villain he’s looking for. His eyes are searching the shadows for a dark hoodie, for a tear-stained face, for the ghost that has been haunting his steps for months.
Mina stops walking. “She’s not here,” she says, her voice steady but incredibly quiet.
He freezes and turns to look at her, his throat suddenly dry. “What do you mean?”
She steps closer to him and raises her hand, placing it gently against his cheek. It is a beautiful, loving gesture.
But as Leo looks down into her eyes, he isn’t seeing Mina. He’s looking right through her. His mind is frantically sprinting backward into the past, agonizingly trapped in the memory of the way it used to be. He’s searching Mina’s face for a glimpse of the person he left behind on this very grass.
“You’re looking at me,” she whispers, a single tear slipping down her cheek, “but you’re searching for her.”
“Mina, no, that’s not—” Leo starts. He takes a half-step back, ready to deflect, spin a lie, ready to say he’s fine and that he’s completely over it.
“Don’t,” she cuts him off gently. She drops her hand from his cheek, creating a sudden, freezing distance between them. “Don’t lie to me, Leo. And stop lying to yourself. You told me I made your mind quiet. But you’re just using my quiet to drown out the noise of how much you miss her.”
His breath hitches, the words hitting him like a punch, stripping away his bravado and leaving him entirely exposed.
“You left a piece of your own heart out here with her,” Mina says, her voice trembling with a mixture of sadness and quiet dignity. “Go find it, Leo. Because I deserve someone who is actually in the room when I hold their hand.” She leans up, presses a soft, final kiss to his cheek, and turns away.
Leo watches her walk down the illuminated park path until her silhouette disappears into the city lights. He’s left alone, standing by the fountain.
For the first time in months, the quiet in his head cracks open. The artificial peace shatters, and the chaotic, beautiful memory of your love floods back into his mind. He stands trembling, finally admitting the truth to the empty night: he never wanted the quiet. He was just a coward, running from how much it hurt to love someone that completely.
Weeks pass.
Leo doesn’t jump into another distraction. Doesn’t go to Run of the Mill Pizza, and he doesn’t crack jokes to deflect his brothers’ worried glances. He sits in his room and finally allows himself to feel the grief he had been running from.
And then, on a cool Thursday evening, a ring of neon-blue appears in the alleyway near your apartment.
Leo steps through the portal. He walks down the alley, looking up at the metal fire escape of the dark apartment. He doesn’t use his ninpo to teleport inside, nor does he make a grand entrance. After climbing the stairs, he arrives at the bedroom window and proceeds to tap lightly on the glass.
Inside, the blinds move. A moment later, the window slides open, and you step out onto the fire escape. You look tired, but the frantic, hysterical edge from your last encounter is gone. Instead, you look guarded. Cautious.
Leo looks at you—really looks at you, and the last remnants of his ego completely dissolve. “Hey,” he says, his voice soft, entirely stripped of his flashy persona. “Can we … talk?”
You hesitate, staring at him, before silently sitting down on the metal platform, your knees pulled to your chest. He sinks down beside you, leaving a careful few inches of space between the two of you.
“Mina and I broke up,” he confesses quietly, keeping his eyes on the glittering New York skyline. “She was right. I tried to force myself to be fine because the way we loved each other … it scared me. I was so broken after the invasion. I thought the noise of our relationship would destroy me, so I ran to something safe. Something quiet.”
You let out a slow, shaky breath, your eyes fixed on the horizon. “And now?”
“Now I know that the noise wasn’t the problem. I just needed to learn how to breathe through it,” Leo says. He turns his head, his eyes full of sincere vulnerability. Slowly, he extends his hand, palm up, resting it on the metal between you—leaving the choice of reciprocation entirely up to you. “I don’t want to rush. I don’t want to tear open the wounds we just spent months trying to stitch back together. But I’m done running.”
You look at his open palm: the familiar green scales, the calluses from his swords. Although the silence stretches between you, it isn’t empty or forced. You place your hand in his. Your fingers weave together with a gentle, cautious hold.
Leo closes his eyes, letting out a breath he feels like he’s been holding for a lifetime. For a long moment, neither of you says anything. There’s a distant siren. The rumble of traffic. Still, neither of you lets go.
“I hurt you.”
You stare ahead at the skyline. “Yeah.”
His jaw tightens. “I know saying sorry doesn’t fix it.”
“No.”
“I know I don’t deserve another chance just because I finally figured my own stuff out.”
You glance sideways at him; his eyes remain fixed on the city. For once, he’s not trying to charm his way out of the truth.
“I was angry,” you admit, a humorless laugh escaping you. “Actually, that’s not true. Angry would’ve been easier.”
He swallows.
“I was devastated.” Your confession hangs in the air.
His eyes close. “I didn’t leave because I stopped loving you.”
You stare at him, and he finally turns to meet your eyes. The vulnerability there almost hurts to look at.
“After the Krang … after everything that happened …” A shaky breath leaves him as his hand unconsciously drifts toward the scar on his plastron. “I couldn’t handle losing one more thing.”
A sad smile pulls at your mouth. “And how’d that work out for you?”
Leo lets out a broken laugh. “Spectacularly.”
You both laugh then, not because it’s funny. But because sometimes pain becomes so absurd that’s all you can do. The tension between you eases by a fraction. Just enough to breathe, just enough to remember.
The late-night patrols. Stolen pizza slices. Arguments that lasted fifteen minutes before turning into make-out sessions. The way he’d always reached for your hand without thinking. The way he’d looked at you when he thought nobody was watching.
And judging by the softness entering his expression now, he’s remembering too.
“I missed you,” he says.
Three words, no dramatic speech, no grand gesture.
Just the truth.
Something inside your chest aches. “I missed you too.”
Leo’s breath catches, and the city suddenly feels very far away—and the distance between you feels tiny. He looks down at your joined hands and smiles. “I can do slow,” he says quietly.
You raise an eyebrow. “The guy who once tried to speed-run a relationship?”
“Okay, rude.”
“The guy who said, ‘I love you’ after three weeks.”
“In my defense, I was correct.”
You roll your eyes.
He grins. But it fades after a moment, replaced by sincerity. “I mean it.” His thumb brushes gently across your knuckles. “I just … I’d like the chance to earn my way back into your life.”
The vulnerability in his voice makes your chest tighten. You lean your shoulder against his. He freezes, as if afraid he’ll scare the moment away. Then his shoulder gently presses back.
Below you, New York continues moving. Above you, the stars peek through the clouds. And somewhere between the hurt of what happened and the hope of what might come next, the two of you sit together on the fire escape.
Leo looks at you and finally understands that some storms aren’t meant to be survived.
YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOW! IT ENDED WITH A HAPPY ENDING! I'M SO HAPPY!! 😭
((I'm glad Mina left, I hope she finds someone who truly loves her, because if it were up to me I would have killed her already 😀).. Yes, I really did develop a hatred for her, sorry.

Y/N was sitting down reading a magazine, finally feeling free from her sons then Aura ran to her and Angel ran to the entrance.
"Look, look, she already took it!" Angel yelled, making Aura whine in misery.
Y/N sat up and Aura looked at her. "Took what?" She asked.
"The bicycle!" Aura answered making Y/N also stand up, knowing the only bicycle around was Mikey's one.
"Oh wow! Who took it?" Y/N asked.
"Minerva!" Angel answered, making Y/N panic, remembering that Minnie can't use a bicycle, last time Mikey tried to teach her an entire building went to the ground.
"DAMNIT-" the mother stood up and started running towards the entrance. "She can get run over by a car!" Y/N ran outside, leaving the two kids alone.
"... Well, that was easy" Angel said, putting his hand on his hips.
"Why did we do this?" Aura asked.
Angel looked at Aura. "So we can have the sewers for ourselves! Dads will probably go after her!" He rambled, all while a shadow started looming over him, a shadow that Aura noticed and looked up with wide eyes.
"Oh..." Aura mumbled and looked up, gulping.
Angel paused when he felt the room getting colder and slowly looked up, there was Donnie with his arms clenched and narrowed eyes.
Angel blinked and nervously smiled as Donnie glared, arms crossed and looking stern. "You find worrying your mother funny?" He asked with a death glare.
"Uh.. no?" Angel tried to look innocent, but he only saw Donnie cracking his knuckles and smacked his knuckles against Angel's forehead.
Angel yelped in shock then started crying... In his own way. "Pipipipipipipi!" He cried.
Aura, meanwhile, facepalmed but then Donnie's attention turned to her. "And why were you with him on this stupid idea?" He asked, making Aura pause.
Aura looked at Donnie for a few seconds then started running away panickedly while pulling her phone and dialing someone as she heard Donnie running right after her.

April was preparing to leave for another day of work then turned to her 15-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter, Joshua and Madisson, both playing something on the TV.
"You two remember to watch the lasagna on the stove, you heard me?" She asked.
The two looked up and nodded. "Yeah, sure" Madisson answered as Joshua went back to playing. April raised an eyebrow while looking at them, then smirked. "Alright then, I trust you both, have fun you little goofballs" she said then left, the two hearing the door closing, they kept playing till Madisson's phone rang, making her groan.
"Fuck-" Madisson mumbled and reached for the phone, holding it against her ear. "Yeah?" She got answered by a loud scream across the phone, loud enough to even make Joshua stop playing.
"Was that... Aurora?" He asked, making Madison pause. "I... Guess not? It's too high and whiny-" she was interrupted by a more high pitched yell.
"WHERE ARE YOU!? DADDY'S GOING TO COOK ME ALIVEEEEEEE!!" the yell was loud enough to make Madison have to physically pull away before she got deaf.
Madisson winced slightly, she forgot completely she should go see Aura and Angel today. "I'm- uh- I'm coming!" She quickly started running to the door, but stopped and looked at her older brother.
"Josh, tell mom April and mom Sunita I'm coming back a bit late!" Madisson nodded, Josh only nodded, Madisson walked outside, leaving the apartment and going to the sewers without being seen, after all it would be weird to see a girl entering the sewers, she looked at every side and finally got in. She eventually saw Aura running away from Donnie desperately as Angel held an icepack to his forehead.
Angel turned to Madisson and smiled widely. "Maddy!" He called happily, throwing the icepack to the side, running to her and wrapping his arms around her, making Madisson groan and look down at Angel, scoffing.
"Okay okay, I'm here dumbass, what happened?" She asked, pushing Angel away with one arm as Angel chuckled.
"Simple! We got in trouble with papa Dee!" The young eye-slidder replied while gesturing to Aurora who was still running like her life depended on it and Donnie with his staff at hand.
"Oh." Madisson mumbled. "And the others?" She looked around for Fuji, Ben and Minnie.
"Oh-" before Angel could answer a loud voice and guitar played in the background, the two instantly turned to the room, the room where the triplets of Y/N, Leo and Yuichi were.
"Was that-" Madisson started, making Angel nod.
The two quietly walked there, peeking by the door, seeing Fuji sitting on the carpet with her back turned, covering her ears with an annoyed expression, her eye twitching as the triplets were looking at Minnie with wide eyes, Minnie was playing a guitar loudly and singing something from System of a Down, all while Ben sat beside Fuji, moving the spoon of his coffee cup while watching the scene with his the same smile as always. Then finally Minnie finished, panting, after some miserable awkward seconds all the triplets started crying in sync while Fuji pinched the bridge of her nose while holding one close.
"What?! Never heard good music before?!" Minnie yelled at the kids, her voice a bit sore from singing so loudly.
Ben finally took a sip of his cup. "Or maybe they have some sort of dignity and their ears are functional" he said calmly, casually moving his head to the side as the guitar flew by his head, he knew Minnie would try to throw it at him.
"OW!" A voice said from behind him, making Ben, Fuji and Minnie turn at the door direction, there was Mikey holding his head after the guitar slam against his head.
Angel, completely ignoring the bump on Mikey's head that looked more like a tumor looked up at him. "Can we go see Hueso?" He asked. Mikey looked at Angel with a blank expression then sighed and nodded, walking in. "Yeah, yeah, sure, have fun..." He mumbled, walking towards the triplets and picking them up. "What happened this time?" He looked at Fuji.
"Minnie singing skills" Fuji said bluntly. "Or lack of" Ben added, making a loud "fuck you, Ben!" come from Minnie.
Mikey raised an eyebrow but didn't question, only groaning as he adjusted his grip on the still crying triplets, still scared of Minnie's... Voice acting.
"Welp. Pizza hill we go!" Angel said with a wide smile.
Aura finally came, rubbing her arm after receiving a huge smack. "That's not the name..." She said softly.
"Oh, whatevs! Let's go!" Minnie rolled her eyes and started walking already, her shoulder bumping against Angel and Madisson.
"Not even a "hello"?" Maddisson asked sarcastically, only to receive a middle finger... Or what was the middle finger from a three-fingered turtle. "Deal with it, pig fluke!"
Maddison rolled her eyes, but at least Ben and Fuji were polite enough to pass by her and greet her. "Good night Maddie" Fuji pet Madisson's shoulder and Ben nodded at her, not using words to greet her. The six left, now it was time for another adventure.
---------------------------------------------
When they finally arrived Angel looked around the restaurant, then smiled widely when he saw a familiar boney yōkai with his back turned. "Granduncle!" He smiled widely, running towards Hueso.
"Wait-" Aura called, but stopped when Angel fell facefirst on the floor, but he quickly stood up and kept walking...only to fall again, making Minnie facepalm. "And to think THAT'S our leader..." She mumbled as Fuji raising an eyebrow. "Is he even seeing the "wet floor" warning?.." she mumbled but after another humilating fall... definitely not.
Maddisson meanwhile clung to Ben's arm, looking between the yōkais with a wary expression, sure, it wasn't the first time she has been there, being around them made this happen frequently but it still made her wary, Ben seemed to have noticed her worry and pet her arm. "It's fine, we're here, nobody will bring you harm..." He said calmly and looked at the mural of missing yōkais and mutants, his smirk got a tad bit darker.
The others went to a table while Angel finally reached Hueso and started talking to him, Hueso almost fell backwards as he saw Angel with soap, his body wet from the water and a bloody nose of the multiple falls... But eh, it was Leo's son, he couldn't expect much.
"En el nombre de todo lo sagrado, muchacho, look look at where you're walking!" Hueso sighed and grabbed a tissue, rubbing Angel's nose as he pointed to the wet floor sign, making a "ohh" leave Angel's mouth in realization.
"How long has it been there?" Angel asked, making Hueso pause and take a deep breath, reminding himself Angel was still a child.
"Since you arrived..." Hueso mumbled, seeing Angel's other siblings and friend on a table. "Go back to your table, I'll send a waiter" he added, putting the bloodied tissue back on a trash can.
"Okay!" Angel jokily did a soldier's salutation and turned to go to the table, only to fall again... But he quickly stood up and started walking normally to the table.
As Angel sat there, squeezing himself next to Ben, Fuji looked through the menu. "So.. pepperoni or mozzarella?" She asked.
"The usual" Minnie shrugged, arms crossed and a bored expression.
"The one we grew up eating" Ben said while looking through the newspaper.
"Pepperoni" Maddisson said blankly without looking up at her phone.
Aura just nodded in agreement with the others.
"What everyone said!" Angel said.
Fuji blinked and sighed. "Why do I even bother asking..." She muttered to herself and closed the menu, waiting for the waiter.
"Sooo~ anyone wanna talk?" Angel asked, but everyone's silence was enough to answer.

I don’t know who needs to read this but no - neither Kendratello nor Raphnita were “supposed to be canon”.
‘BUT RAZZ, ANDY SAID THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DATE FOR HALF A SEASON OR SOMETHING’
Yes, but afterwards in the same stream, Ant Ward and Russ Carney cleared up the misunderstanding.
Ron Corcillo, Ant and Russ made it very clear that even if the show HAD continued, none of the brothers nor April were planned to have significant others. The focus of Rise was always about family, and they wanted to avoid the shipping wars/drama that came with 2012.
That said? As a shameless OCxCanon shipper myself, you can SHIP WHAT YOU WANT - just don’t force your ship into being canon, learn to block ships you don’t like, and don’t attack others for what they ship.
