[cis man, he/him] Welcome to Aurora Bay, [CHASE WILLIAMS]! I couldnβt help but notice you look an awful lot like [MICHAEL EVANS BEHLING]. You must be the [TWENTY-NINE] year old [NFL QUARTERBACK]. Word is youβre [CHARMING] but can also be a bit [DISTANT] and your favorite song is [WHAT I PUT YOU THROUGH BY CONOR MAYNARD]. I also heard youβll be staying in [AURORA BAY DRIVE]. Iβm sure youβll love it!
Chase was born and raised in Southern California.
His father was a NFL football coach so whenever he went out of town on games he would take Chase with him so he could learn the ropes of what life as an athlete.
His sister was the opposite of him, she was the one who excelled with classes while he was the one who excelled in sports.
But as soon as he entered high school, his father stopped taking him so that he could focus on building his own football career. He climbed the social ladder from the first day of school and most would say that he was the one who led his βclique.β
Chase was scouted by colleges all over the world from Notre Dam to UCLA. He ended up picking Notre Dam and packed up his bags after graduation, bringing his high school girlfriend he started dating when he was 17 with him for the ride.
While he was in Notre Dam, the two of them got pregnant and Chase knew the moment she told him that he was going to do absolutely everything he could to take care of her and their daughter.
Nine months later, Chase and his ex are bringing their daughter home from the hospital when a drunk driver hits them. Chase wakes up in the hospital and just wants to know how his ex and their daughter are doing. Itβs when the doctor tells him about their daughter not making it.
Chase had to be the one to break the new to his ex and it was the signature on the death certificate of their relationship. He tried so hard to keep making it work until he came home from class to her bags packed and make up running down her cheeks.
After that, Chase dove into school and buried himself in guilt.
When Chase was a junior in college he was drafted into the NFL by the LA Rams, taking trips out of town whenever there were games that were out of state.
Chase could barely hold a relationship and he never really tried, using his football seasons as an excuse to keep people at a distant. To this day, he has never told a single person about his daughter.

Back to L.A. means not in Aurora Bay, and that also means, not in the way for whatever transpires between Aeris and Chase. He feels the tiniest bit antsy, but Aeris keeps himself reeled in. Close proximity and dropping hints will be as far as he goes for now, anyway.
"Me? Oh, please. I'm a saint."
Aeris looks into the ice that's melting in the bottom of his rocks glass with feigned guilt. As though he'd been caught red-handed even if it's beyond a decade since then. Definitely not as new as a fresh-divorce from a Vegas bride.
( No judgement, all amusement coming from him. )
"Unless having your parents get a restraining order against you for breaking and entering is crazy enough. In my defense, I needed money and food, and no. I wasn't a junkie, just down on my luck." He cringes. "And kicked out after a fresh break up."
There will always be a defense for his decisions. No matter which was it's spelled out, Aeris won't ever admit that the reason he was in such a position all started with his own irresponsible and immature decisions. "Uh, otherwise, I don't get into crazy trouble, no vandalism or benders or drive-thru weddings," he teases lightly.
"But, ah, fuck 'em. They don't even know what I'm up to, not beyond anything social media shows. I intend to keep it that way."
Chase laughs, brushing his tongue along his lower lip as he rests his elbow against the surface of the bar, leaning slightly closer to Aeris. "Come on." He muses in a soft tone with a slight smirk curving his features. "Am I really supposed to believe you are a saint with a face like that?"
His amusement fades though once Aeris opens up about the crazy thing he had happened to him. "My first thought wasn't that you were a junkie. I feel like we normally go to our parents when something bad happens. I've had my fair share of nights where I snuck back into their house when I was too drunk to remember I lived on my own." There's a huff of a chuckle that leaves him. "If I'm allowed to ask, why did they do that? Turn you in for it when all you needed was somewhere to be after the break up?"
"Drive thru weddings aren't what they are cut out to be. You now have a story to tell someone who decides it's a good idea." He teases. "You have your own business though. It's on them for not wanting to cheer you on through that. It's impressive of as hell, by the way."
Elijah was quick to move over to the clean up job, perhaps he wasn't as happy to be helping with clean up, but this wasn't like wrestling there wasn't a whole team specifically to clean up. Here it was help and help alike, so here Elijah was only too happy to provide that hand that was needed in the clean up. "Hey as long as nothing gets my face, this is what the people love seeing on their screens." He said, laughing.
Chase raises his eyes up to look at Elijah, arching a brow. "Are you saying no one wants to see my ugly mug on their screens?" He teases, shaking his head as he picks up one side of the keg. "All I know is you better pull your weight."
"If my apartment was on fire I wouldn't have called you, I would've called those gorgeous firemen at the firehouse. Duh." Sage rolled her eyes at her brother before answering his question. "The rush is that I need holiday decorations and I want you to come with me." She shrugged as though he should already know why he was summoned to her apartment.
Once Sage brings up the gorgeous firemen, Chase thinks about Dallas briefly. "Right, it would make more sense for you to all the fire department instead of your football brother. What would he do? Throw a football at it?" He teases with a small smirk. His face drops though when she brings up holiday decorations, his head turning to look around her apartment. "At least tell me you'll be decorating for Thanksgiving and not Christmas, Sage."
Everything was starting to wind down now, the party seemed to be coming to a close but he was still here in his wrestling gear enjoying the tail end of the party, and maybe some people had headed home but there still appeared to be a good amount of people in the spirit still.
"Hey!" He called out, "You okay over there? Need a hand?" He gave a quick flex and laughed softly. "Just let me know."
Chase turns his head to look over at he voice aimed in his direction. He decided to help and clean up a little bit, moving to grab one of the beer kegs from behind the bar. He tilts the the keg over onto his side as he laughs at the gesture that Elijah does. "If you want to come over here and give a hand, I'm not going to complain. I wouldn't want to hurt these ball catching hands," he teases.

"Okay, real quick." Gillian started without much preamble. "My boss charged me with coming up with at least three Holiday-y ice cream flavors to roll out in a couple weeks and my brain kinda shut down after peppermint. Got any ideas that wouldn't taste terrible?"
"Hm?" Chase lifts his eyes up from his cup of ice cream at Gillian's words. "Holiday-y ice cream flavors, huh? Are we thinking for Christmas time?" Since for some reason no one thinks about Thanksgiving when it comes to flavors. "You could do egg nog and apple pie. It would be pretty good to have both those flavors in ice cream form."
Spencer didnβt think he was too old as the oldest skateboarder competing had at least twenty years on him but like all sports it was a young persons game. He didnβt want to lose his spark before he got the chance to compete. β like with training and like staying on a routine ?cause thatβd be pretty cool β he noted with a small smile β oh nothing. I think they have this mechanism built into them to be the people who just have a bit of magic in their food. If you ever find out let me know cause it sounds cool so far β @chascwilliams
Chase nods his head at the other's words. "Yeah, training and staying on a routine. I know when football seasons comes into gear that I'll be having to get my ass back into gear. So, I can help you get yours in as well." His eyebrows scrunch together for a second. "I realize how that sounded out loud, I'm sorry." He laughs. "Do you think we get the magic when we get older or do you think it's just a grandparent thing?"
At the very least, thereβs confidence that Chase doesnβt feel smothered in any way. Thatβs what Aeris hopes, even as he listens on about this ex-wife situation. It has him intrigued. His drink is left on the bar counter, his eyes stay focused on Chaseβs face, and Aeris just listens.
No jests or prodding, he asked his question. The extent of which Chase answers is up to him, and Aeris is more than happy to hear him open up so much. Itβs not so much about the vulnerability of the moment. Nah, Aeris never was the most compassionate person, but it all falls under the βgood to knowβ column.
βA car accident?βΒ
Aeris frowns, his eyebrows crease his forehead with a mild worry. Itβs not for Chaseβs ex-wife β he doesnβt know the woman β but for the situation as a whole.Β
βWow, that is soap opera sounding for sure, and wild. One domino falling after the other. Sheβs alright, I take it?β He makes the assumption that it is the case and she is still walking around this God green earth somewhere, otherwise she wouldnβt be an ex-wife, and Chase would be a widower. Context clues.Β
However, the word βrealβ causes Aeris's train of thought to come to an immediate stop.
He doesn't like that word. Not in this context.
"You can't force it if it's not there. To be fair, a quick Vegas drive-thru wedding is probably the biggest clue it wasn't real, but props for trying to make it work."
There's a slight nod; it's all he can do to answer the question about the car accident. It seems straight out of soap opera. They have their first fight and she gets into a car accident less than twenty-minutes later, giving neither one of the time to fully settle about the fight.
He felt like he was almost forced to forgive her because of it but that was something else he'd touch later. It seems a little rude to talk about now.
"Yeah, she's fine. Last I heard she moved back to LA to take care of her business." He says. They didn't talk as much which isn't surprising, it's what people do when they break up right?
Promise to keep in touch and then never hear from one another again.
He doesn't plan to touch the traumatic experience of his teenage years, the years he refuses to talk about or think about. It's easier that way. Plus this was meant to be a date, more light hearted than this.
"You have a point," he chuckles lightly. "What about you? What's the craziest thing you've done?"
"It's a spicy ramen, with beef, veggies and mushroom." Clayton said excitedly, "It's very delicious. You can get them at the asian market or I think at the grocery store in the asian section. I usually go to the Asian market to shop for some things or steal from my parents home." He said with a guilty smile. "Is that so? Maybe we should have carbonara ramen one of these days. I'll make it my special way that I'm sure you will enjoy." Clayton wasn't going to lie, it tend to be a bit spicy but he was used to the flavor. "Are you a pineapple topping flavor for pizza or are you against it."
Chase nods his head at the other's words. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in the grocery store but I've seen that one girl's tiktoks where she shops at that little convivence store. I wish we had a market like that somewhere but I think the only thing you can really get at those places here is food poisoning." Honestly, he was surprised that people trusted gas station food but again he was guilty like everyone else. "You'll have to teach me how to make it or what to buy to make it because it sounds good." He chuckles. "Making me food now, huh? Who knew our relationship was at that level." He smirks, a teasing tone leaving him. "I think the only thing I won't eat on a pizza is anchovies. What about you?"
Sage wasn't dramatic she was annoying. To her brother at least. She'd sent him an emergency text asking if he'd hurry over to her apartment, but what she wasn't telling him was that she wanted him to go with her to the store to buy Halloween decorations and maybe even a few new potted plants for her apartment. She was becoming a plant lady.
Chase had an understanding of what Sage was like; this could possibly be an actual emergency or she was dragging him out into the world to help her with a task that was simple enough to do on her own. He walks into her apartment less than ten minutes after her text, glancing around the inside of it before he drifts his gaze to her.
"At least your apartment isn't on fire... What was the rush?"

"Oh, how fancy of you. A bagel breakfast sandwich," Tilly teases, holding both hands up. The sad thing about it was that these days, a bagel sandwich really was a delicacy to her. "That makes one of us. Glad to hear you wouldn't be kitchenless for long, though." The brunette nods, pleased with the outcome. "Saturday it is. I'll bring the bagels." @chascwilliams
Chase laughs. "Yeah, so fancy." He rolls his eyes playfully. "Tell me it wouldn't be better. Maybe everything bagels." He smirks. "Even if we did this at your place, I would make sure you didn't go kitchenless for long either." He smiles. He nods his head as he turns his head to look over his shoulder. "Alright, I guess I'll see you then, Til." He moves to walk past her, giving her shoulder a little pat before walking away completely.
As have grabbed his leftovers he moved to get out of the booth on the opposite end. β I mean Iβll be honest I assume that most combinations of mismatched items was thought someone high β Gabe noted with a small smile on his face as he moved to leave. βMargarita time? β @chascwilliams
"Or pregnant." Chase laughs, shrugging his shoulders. "I heard they like a weird combination of food too." He says as he moves to push open the entrance door, nodding his head. "Absolutely. What kind are you planning on getting?" He asks, turning his head to look over at the other.
"All that NFL money's gotta go somewhere." Jude settles down into his seat, raking back his rogue strands of hair with spayed fingers. "I get out enough." Jude replies, evening, before grabbing a handful of peanuts left at the table by the bartender. "Nah, off my driveway." A smirk escapes his lips, leaning back against the vinyl of the booth. "I don't pretend to like people. I'd rather be seen as antisocial than a liar."
Chase laughs. "You have a point, but you can't tell me you don't run a successful business. Aren't you pretty much the only mechanic in town?" He turns his head to look over at Jude as he plops down onto the stool. He reaches over to grab some of the peanuts, popping them into his mouth. "How often?" He asks, arching a brow. "Right, right." He laughs. "Your driveway. So, not much of a lawn guy?" He teases. He puts his hand up and gestures to the bartender for two beers, assuming that Jude wasn't much of a cocktail guy. "That's fair, there's some shitty people out there."
When Chase put it that way, it all clicked for Camille. It was no wonder his ex-wife thought that she had a crush on him. It wasn't even that. The natural banter between them was just there... and it would probably always would be. However, she knew that if someone heard this conversation - they would think more of the two. She just couldn't be a Libra in peace.
"Of course I want more time with you." She retorted, "You're like one of my favorite people and I don't want to distance myself from my favorite people again." She needed the time with her friends. "Unless you don't want me around which fine, I guess, rude, but fine." She dramatically rolled her eyes. @chascwilliams
Chase enjoyed his time with Camille. Despite all the drama that came about their friendship when he was trying to give his wife another chance. A part of him is glad the two of them haven't missed a step in their banter, that it is as if nothing had happened between them and they could go back to doing what they had before. He doesn't feel like he has to explain anything to a person he's dating when it comes to his friendships.
"I don't want you to do that either," he says, his tone a little more serious than before. "I always want you around," he murmurs, raising his arm and dropping it across her shoulder to walk her along toward the ice cream place. "I now plan to bug you all the time."

"I usually go with shin ramen, it's not spicy to me but the flavors is so much better and yes, I do add an egg to it. Sometimes I get those ramen packets what is it called...sa yang buldak ramen the carbonara flavor. I add cheese to it until it's melted with some rice cakes and some seaweed...so delicious." His mouth watered at the mention of the particular ramen, "but those ones can be spicy if you can handle it." Clayton thought about what sort of pizza he'd make, "Probably pepperoni. I'm simple when it comes to pizza." @chascwilliams
"Shin ramen? What is that?" Of course, he only grew up on the top ramen. He always saw those ramen bowls on Tiktok that made him want to try it but he's not sure where to even get it from. He lifts his eyes up to look at the other, nodding his head. "I actually know what that is, I heard the carbonara flavor is to to die for." He leans his arms down against the surface of the table. "Spicy doesn't bother of me." He says, but he's sure that Clayton would make him eat this words later. "Yeah, same. I don't really want to fuck around with my pizza toppings."
β Yeah it was the most sort of routine and regimented my whole career and life had been. It was a bit overwhelming but I mean it was all for a good reason so I just sort of vibed with it as long as I could β Spencer admitted before looking over at the other man. β I did. I got short listed. I was cut close to the end though. Makes me think next times my big chance. I gotta hurry though. Did you see you young the one kid was? They were like 11. Iβm already double that plus some change β he noted laughing a bit. β ooooh, itβs my Grandmas adobo. Like that lady knew how to make the best comfort food. What about you? β @chascwilliams
Chase keeps his eyes on Spencer as he talks; always believing that good eye contact was an amazing form of listening to him. He brushes his tongue along his lower lip as he nods his head. "I get that," he lifts his eyes up toward the other across from him, tapping his finger against the to go box. "I know they are getting younger and younger. But if you need any help, just let me know." He hums, nodding his head again. "Nothing beats grandma's cooking, does it? My mom used to make this one dish when I was growing up but she's been more experimental and doesn't make the same stuff anymore but I'd do anything for that meal again... I just can't remember what she used to call it." He laughs.
