Let's begin with skin preparation. Before any makeup is applied, your face must be clean and moisturized. Use a gentle cleanser suited for your skin type, then apply a light, non-greasy moisturizer. This creates a smooth canvas and helps your makeup last longer.
The first product we will discuss is foundation. Foundation is a liquid or cream that evens out your skin tone. Its purpose is to create a uniform base color across your entire face, covering minor imperfections. To choose the right shade, test it on your jawline; it should disappear into your skin without leaving a noticeable line.
Apply foundation sparingly. Start in the center of your face, your forehead, nose, and chin, and blend outward using a damp makeup sponge or your fingertips. The key is to blend thoroughly into your hairline and jaw so there are no harsh edges.
Next is concealer. Concealer is a thicker, more pigmented product than foundation. Its job is to target specific areas that need extra coverage, such as dark circles under your eyes or any blemishes. Choose a concealer that matches your foundation shade precisely.
Dab a small amount of concealer directly onto the area you wish to cover. Using your ring finger, which has the lightest touch, gently pat the product into the skin until it blends seamlessly with the foundation. Do not rub, as this will remove the coverage.
Now for powder. Powder sets your liquid products in place and reduces shine. Use a large, fluffy brush to pick up a small amount of translucent powder. Gently press the powder onto your face, focusing on areas that tend to get oily, like the T-zone, your forehead, nose, and chin.
