Heyo, I’d really love to hear some hc you have for Jamil x Ruggie specifically. (You can throw Azul in there, of course. I would never separate our boys), but I’m struggling with writing Jamil and Ruggie’s dynamic despite the fact that Jamil is my fav boy 🤣 and I was curious as to how you see the two behaving in a relationship or pre-relationship! Also I’d like to thank you for being this ship’s strongest soldier 🫡 I’ve always loved these three together (ever since Ruggie’s ceremonial robe vignette) and book 8 has only made my love for these three grow. LOL even when I ship three charas I do still think of them within pairs 🙂↕️ there's no way for them to be around each other /all/ the time and I generally think it's good for them to have a relationship with each other outside of the trio dynamic...that aside!
The three of them would try (and ultimately fail) to keep their relationship private and it'd be mostly Ruggie's fault 😭 at first when they were just friends and Ruggie would get in his space and put his arm around Jamil's shoulder everyone would think it was weird that Jamil would let it happen but everyone brushed it off...but after dating for a bit it turned into Ruggie hugging him from behind and Jamil leaning into it.. putting his head on Jamil's lap and Jamil absentmindedly patting his head 😭 but Ruggie does get elbowed when he attempts to put his hands under Jamil's hoodie
Ruggie appreciates that Jamil by default never uses strong scents but because of that Jamil tends to end up smelling like Kalim which annoys him LOL so that definitely contributes to why he's clingy (similarly depending on the day Azul smells too much like the tweels for his liking) but as a result Leona ends up side-eyeing him 😭 bc Ruggie's scent changed 😭 I read a jp fic where Jamil found out Ruggie was wearing hand-me-downs from Leona and got bothered lol they both get jealous but pretend to not be
Also I want Jamil to occasionally make Ruggie lunch bc he had "extra" food and deliver it to his classroom...once again everyone is confused
They're generally chill and casual energywise around each other (before and during dating) but if they're out and about Jamil may revert to how he was with his old friends and get goaded into being mischievous 😂
In Ruggie's outdoor wear vignette he cheers obnoxiously when he walks by Jamil playing basketball 😂 I want him to do that again except actually being genuine about it 🙂↕️ they have their own sports club practices but! That doesn't mean they can't exercise or smth together (Azul sure as hell won't LOL Azul does use small weights in his room but there's a limit to what he'll do 😂 in a similar vein they can ride their brooms together)

I think it's especially jarring when he's around non beastfolk/non sunset savanna citizens because nobody knows that's how hyenas are viewed so he's making people aware for no reason

This is my own mental block/burden being an ot3 shipper but while I'm very happy jamiazujami is popular now compared to 2020...I can't actually go out of my way to put myself into purely jamiazujami spaces bc I'd spend the whole time going "where's Ruggie" LOL it hurts my chest too much to leave any of them out 😭 I can't do it 😭 I want all three 😭 whenever I talk about them in pairs it's with the internal understanding that all three of them are dating 😂 but I think the fact that the only characters I ship them with are each other...if I leave one out he has to be single forever bc I got nobody else for him

Azul, Jamil, and Ruggie have always been my favorite twisted characters. I’ve always shipped JamiAzu, RugJami, and RugZul separately in their own right. So, when I found your page, I was thrilled to see someone else recognized the potential in their dynamic. I was curious to know why you ship all three and what your favorite canon moments between them are :)
I figured I should start rambling about them publicly on the off chance someone who also likes them would pop up so I'm glad it worked LOL
Digging into my 2020 memories now...
I think, like many other people at the time, I started to ship JamiAzu after Jamil's labwear vignette (and then we know how persistent Azul is with Jamil that point onwards 😭) I really enjoy it when a specific person is able to pinpoint aspects of my fave they want to keep hidden
For RugJami it was after we found out exactly what Jamil's unique magic was I went "ah! That's how he was able to tell magic was used on him in book 2" that combined with Jamil's school uniform vignette made me aware of their similarities...I've joked before saying "idk if Yana meant to draw parallels between the cycle of poverty and forced servitude but I'll take it!" Lol
RugAzu and RugJamiAzu happened simultaneously after reading Ruggie's ceremonial robes vignette 😌 iirc that was the first time we saw all three of them interact at the same time alone and Jamil and I had the same reaction of "...Ruggie and Azul actually work well together don't they???" But bc I already shipped JamiAzu and RugJami I figured I may as well put all three together if I enjoy RugAzu's potential too
I pretty consistently ship ot3s across series so that conclusion was near immediate 😂 I rly enjoy trios for some reason and I also tend to ship characters who are from different cultures/countries together
It feels like an obvious/uncreative choice but my fave rugjami canon interaction is glomas! I think it's the first clear moment where we see how Jamil has changed since his book 6 convo with Leona and I like that Ruggie's "must suck you got left behind with a weakling" comment got immediately shot down by Jamil 🥰 Jamil saying it could only be Ruggie made my heart flutter lol seeing them happily being ~bad~ together was like watching one of my delusions come true 😭 it was exactly what I had been imagining their dynamic would be like if Jamil got over himself and earnestly worked together with Ruggie one day...I love it!
Ruggie wasn't even around for this but my fave RugAzu moment was when Azul said the reasons why they had to wake up Ruggie in his book 7 dream 😭 mainly the part where he says Ruggie wouldn't want to be the only one in his family living happily and that he wouldn't want his grandmother to worry 💔 Azul and Ruggie aren't in the same dorm, class, or club yet he understands this about him
JamiAzu interact a lot don't they lol BUT Tapis Rouge is my favorite bc I think that's a turning point in their relationship! After Jamil agreed to Azul's plan (with Ace) it was over 😂 once he then went on to engage with Azul's banter it was super over! And when they secretly left the hotel together at night Jamil may as well have screamed that he likes Azul now ‼️
Can I get away with saying my favorite RugJamiAzu moment is the entirety of their (ongoing) Book 8 match? Is that cheating lol I feel like it's a culmination of everything I've been internally screaming about since 2020 but to be specific I'll say when they saw RSA doing their power of friendship huddle and simultaneously got the ick..Yeah I screenrecorded it I'm keeping it forever (Lilia is in my top 10 twst charas so I promise I am not ignoring him 🤣 but this is about my ship)
Beyond that I have a folder of screenshots on my phone of times they've all said something near identical 😂 I don't think they even know just how similar they are bc they say these things when they're not together
Also It's wild to me that Azul lets Ruggie take Mostro Lounge leftovers when he really doesn't need to bc We know for a fact that Azul distributes that food to his dorm so giving it to Ruggie feels unnecessary 🤭 because Ruggie already gets paid with money 🤭 soooo 🤭
And even with Jamil's book 6 convo with Leona in mind...he warmed up to Ruggie rly quickly ! Reading Jamil's La Bonbonnière vignette was surreal bc it meant them getting along during glomas wasn't a fluke...Jamil just likes him now 🤭

For more rapidfire reasons... I like how they: tease each other, can be casual with each other, have similar insecurities, visually contrast, want to surpass societies expectations for them, are skilled with food in some capacity, all are very intelligent (some would argue against Ruggie but for his grades to go from the bottom to the middle with some tutoring from Leona is insane...imagine if he had proper resources and education since birth?)
...I like how they look with Ruggie in the middle it's visually pleasing bc Jamil and Azul are only 1cm apart but Ruggie is noticeable shorter LOL it's cute
