We'll see how much of a joke this actually ends up being 😭 but this is deeply funny to me bc how'd I do that

I already know about Leona obviously but I need to find out more about the other two bc I feel like I'd enjoy them all together for narrative based thematic reasons (like my ot3)

As of right now I have no real Leona ships and idt a character /has/ to be shipped with someone but this seems fun...I like them in reverse order of my ot3 tho so their shipname would be...RieMinaLeo...??

But being royalty and feeling suffocated by your position (all of them for different reasons), not wanting to deal with others' opinions on what you should/shouldn't do, and "running away" from your home country to ignore those feelings 😭 Them all thinking their countries are stiff/outdated but Leona seemingly being the only one who wants political power to change things makes for an interesting dynamic...

I figured I should start rambling about them publicly on the off chance someone who also likes them would pop up so I'm glad it worked LOL

Digging into my 2020 memories now...

But I haven't super touched on why

I think this mainly would be a post graduation yrs down the line getting back together issue but ohhh my god Azul is such a bootstraps capitalist 😂 I absolutely DO NOT want Jamil and especially Ruggie to go "let's hold your hand and teach you about social disparity honey" but I think clashes would naturally pop up in their adult lives that would force him to see other perspectives (although I think if Jamil wasn't a servant he also mightve been at risk of the "just work harder" mentality LOL)

Azul counteracts Jamil's propensity for inaction and Ruggie's occasional self-imposed limitations + how Jamil calls himself "just a servant" and how casually Ruggie sometimes puts himself down for being a hyena

Ruggie is good support and Azul is good at taking the lead but I think Jamil is growing into having the capacity to do both of those things well and bridge them together

Their respective societies oppressed them all in some capacity but Ruggie knows he has the support of his grandmother and neighborhood kids behind him even if he doesn't have a mom/dad/siblings, Azul has the full support of his grandmother/mom/stepfather (but no siblings)...however Jamil has the most "traditional" family structure but his parents told him to not excel and I think because of Jamil's own pride he can't necessarily go to his baby sister for support

Azul is quite individualistic (because he won't suffer the same repercussions someone in Ruggie or Jamil's situation would) but Ruggie is more communal (as far as how he takes care of his grandmother and the children from home)...I think Jamil is going through a constant battle of his own desires vs the expectations and safety of his family

Azul 100% loves his family but yeah he doesn't need to personally worry about bringing back food or not letting his actions endanger them

...cultural differences tie into all of this too

You know Ruggie quite well huh...so many characters think of Ruggie as simply greedy/self-serving/selfish...but in reality he cares for those closest to him and has an "if I eat then they should eat" mentality and the scope of "they" expands in his dream bc he's lacking the troubles and hardships of his real life

I know they repeatedly said the dreams Malleus gave were a distortion or shallow and didn't 1:1 reflect the dreamer...but even still...Ruggie's dream makes you go "perhaps he's a pure-hearted boy deep down..."

Also I've always wanted to see Azul and Ruggie have a conversation about the admiration and love they have for their grandmothers 😭 maybe one day

That aside Azul going into Ruggie's dream and being the one to say this made my shipper heart grow three sizes LOL RugAzu you are so important to me....HOWEVER

I wouldn't be me if I didn't bring up...

I remember back in 2020 I was fighting for my life as a JamiAzuJami fan so imagine my surprise when I got back into twst in 2022/2023 and found out it was actually popular now!

But in 2020 I was also a RugJami fan and that too was a struggle...because people couldn't understand how compatible and similar they are like I did...but then glomas happened and Jamil's La Bonbonnière card came out and people gradually started to take note of how they were a good pair and it made me really happy

BUT truthfully my real real ship was and is rugjamiazu since 2020 but polyam ships are already a difficult selling point...but I knew in my heart that all three had a narrative connection 😤 and now in 2026 they're all put together on the same team in book 8 🥹 my ship in MAIN story 🥹 it feels good LOL I always knew they were connected!! Just had to wait 6 yrs for it to come into fruition

As a ship rugjami is very grounded/pragmatic, but because of that they feel ephemeral. Without having a conversation about it they both enter the relationship with an understanding that it won't surpass their school years

It'd be an easygoing relationship with no real tiffs and neither would be offended that they have responsibilities and work they prioritize over the other

They'd mutually respect each other but the way that'd manifest is them not necessarily pushing each other? It's an unwavering belief that the other can handle their own business without any real interference from them

As a ship jamiazu has more...pressure to it because of Azul

Azul pressuring Jamil to not inhibit himself, to speak his mind, to be ambitious but the more Azul pushes the more Jamil ends up returning that pressure

Because the more Jamil achieves the more he becomes a formidable rival towards Azul...which is what Azul wants and Jamil doesn't want to admit it but he also wants someone he can go all out against 🙂‍↕️ and he definitely thought Azul was the worst but now he enjoys having someone to verbally spar with lol

But because of Azul's pushiness I think the topic of Jamil's future would be a sore spot and while Jamil thought their relationship would end upon graduation and assumed Azul felt the same way...Azul did not 😭

As a trio... Ruggie and Jamil's pragmatism would clash with how dogmatic Azul is...in the sense that he just wouldn't Get why the relationship would have to end

Jamil has/had a tendency to give up before he even began and even Ruggie for all of his ambitions still believes he has a limit...Azul abides by neither of these things and can't comprehend why they would...no matter what Azul will always try and if there's a limit it's meant to be surpassed

I think they can balance each other out! It's good to be grounded but it's good to dream big too

So while they would still "break up" I believe Azul would be insistent on at least remaining in contact 🙂‍↕️ yes they all have their own circumstances and goals post grad but that doesnt mean things have to be completely severed...which I like bc I want them to get back together yrs later HA

Any potential friction within their relationship would be able to be solved through all three of their perspectives...I believe they cover each other's blind spots well
