Robin regurgitates worms
For the hungering chicks in the nest
Imagination of taste now revolts me
Tender feeding of child at breast
The best things in life are nasty
It’s why I love eating blue cheese
And lingering rot of noble botrytis
Is why we give grapes the disease
It is why we harvest the mussels
And adore the caviar’s brine
We endure pain of shucking oysters
So upon the living we dine
The best things in life are nasty
The bacon beasts roll in the mud
To get to that tender filet mignon
One is practically swimming in blood
I shall munch upon the fungus
And the products of the yeast
Every kind of cheese starts in
The belly of a beast
The best things in life are nasty
Sex is a loving swamp
And a pole that shoots from prodding
In a sweaty fumbling romp
The joy of making children
Is ugly and it’s hot
The thrill of something naughty
And the chance of getting caught

Sign in the Sand
From disparate dwelling they came
Every culture and clan
Keen to the trial of discernment
The puzzle in the sand
For a moment they released their weapons
Men stilled their sons’ clinched hands
As they gazed in rapt attention
To the glyphs scratched into the sand
There was understood armistice
Neighbors trampled upon neighbor land
Only one voice cut with meaning
Gentle markings carved in sand
As powerful and wise approached
In awe and irreverence
With their stride they envisioned
Some new human omnipotence
Snarled upper lip
Toward humanity's fate
Disdain for the spiritual
Inherent in gait
The sand was just sand
Coarse, clean and pure
The scribbling on dunes therein
Worth less than manure
Nonetheless words persisted
Could not help but be read
They said ‘Heal the Sacred Earth
or You Shall All Be Dead’
And the wind blew again
Sand into the sea
Warnings can be fleeting
Vast is eternity
Not Enough Air
I need more padding
for my mind
the truth is unkind
I can’t quite get enough air
I know it’s there
Its just never enough
to calm the nerves
And will it get worse....
I sleep too much
I can’t fall asleep
guess I lost my sheep
the longer time goes
the more I’m alone
the more I feel nothing
can ever atone
.
