“We had THE strangest start to the day ever today with the unexpected arrival of the Portuguese Airforce! I had a minor panic at a Ministry of Defence vehicle driving up to the quinta!!! It turned out that Rocket wanted to meet Rocket and we were only too happy to oblige and so was Oreo. We even have a little souvenir from Airforce survival instructor Pedro aka ‘Rocket’ for Oreo aka Rocket. Great to meet you Rocket, Crocodile, Panther and Furby!!!

The great grey owl or great gray owl (Strix nebulosa) is a very large owl, documented as the world’s largest species of owl by length. It is distributed across the Northern Hemisphere, and it is the only species in the genus Strix found in both Eastern and Western Hemispheres. In some areas it is also called Phantom of the North, cinereous owl, spectral owl, Lapland owl, spruce owl, bearded owl, and sooty owl. The great grey owl is the provincial bird of Manitoba.
