𝗹𝗶𝗹𝘆    𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿    𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁    𝘁𝗵𝗲    𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿    of    her    mother    forward,    except    as    much    as    ginny    loved    her    mother,    she    knew    the    fuss    molly    weasley    would    make    when    she    inevitably    find    the    injury    from    a    bludger,    where    as    lily    would    be    quick    to    fix    the    issue.    “    i    know,    i    know    i    just    didn’t    mean    to    frighten    you    !    ”    the    youngest    weasley    grinned.    “    define    alright,    i    made    it    here    ?    ”    but    nimble    fingers    were    already    moving,    lifting    the    side    of    her    jersey    ⸻    one    that    she    couldn’t    bring    herself    to    fully    change    out    of.    “    uh,    this    ?    not    so    much.    ”    pale    skin    of    her    torso,    around    the    lowest    rung    of    her    ribcage,    now    battered    and    bruised.    “    bludger.    ”

" oh dear, " the older witch observed the bruise with assessing eyes before she motioned for the younger to follow her into her office. " this is the reason why i am relieved neither neville or harry decided to take up professional careers in quidditch. i do not think my heart could take it. " her words were serious but soft as she motioned for ginny to lie on the examination table. " is that the extent of your injuries ? did it impact only once or multiple times ? " it was second nature for lily to fall into healer mode.

❝ oh . well , good . that's a relief . ❞ she remarks with a lifted sigh , eyes watching as the other carefully moved about the room . ❝ some dish i found in a magazine . it had chicken , rice , and some vegetables in it . looked like a stew or soup . ❞ she shook her head , shaking off the memory of the way the meat looked after she cut her hand . ❝ i made arthur stop and get something on the way home . i came here straight away . ❞

" i am certain that you will be able to finish it and have a nice dinner with arthur, " she reassured the older witch with a soft smile. " i have never been the greatest cook myself. my talents do not lie in the culinary arts. " the red head witch continued speaking as she made quick work on the wound. once finished, she cleaned up, disposing of various items in the biohazard bin, " and you are now as good as new. "

❝ just trying to be helpful . ❞ she remarks , pulling on the strap of her bag awkwardly . mel watched the other have really no expression and causing her to regret stopping to have a chat . ❝ i heard you are working at the ministry , that must be a joy . ❞  the reek of sarcasm dripped off the femme as she spoke . ❝ me ? i've been doing alright myself . just busy with quidditch and all that . ❞ 

hermione let out a soft non-committal hum underneath her breath. " i am quite enjoying it actually. if you want to change something, it is always smart to start from the inside. " there were many changes the witch wished and planned to implement once she gained more traction within the department. she would be patient. " how is your season going ? " she tried to seem interest but the curly haired witch had never truly gotten into the spirit of the game, " harry tries to make me watch games with him. "

it brought a slight sense of satisfaction to the elder witch as she observed the way her son's cheeks began to flame at her slight scolding. despite the fact that he now towered over her, lily was glad to see that she still had some effect on him. as his arms wrapped around her, her own arms easily wrapped around harry, giving him a warm hug in return, " have you grown again ? " her tone was teasing but her words were serious as she pulled away, " your father and i are well, though truthfully, i am not certain of his current whereabouts however i am not concerned. you know your father, he will eventually resurface, " lily shook her head slightly out of both fondness and exasperation. " how is living with hermione going ? have you both been eating and sleeping enough. "

" i appreciate the concern, robins. " the lack of facial reaction left her unclear as whether hermione was being sincere or sarcastic. truthfully, she probably did not even know herself. however, the witch cringed at the nickname. she did never been a fan of nicknames especially when it came to her own name. silently and with eagle eyes, the younger witch inspected the wound, ensuring that her touch was gentle as she moved molly's hand various angles. " you will be relieved to know that you won't lose your hand, " her tone held subtle notes of teasing as lily moved around her office, preparing to stitch the wound. sanitising, disinfecting the materials, putting on a pair of sterile gloves. " considering that i have ate your food before, arthur is one lucky wizard. what were you planning on cooking ? " one of the best ways to distract a patient was to distract them with conversation.

" you never have to apologise for coming to see me for any ailments or injuries. you know i am always happy to make time for you or your siblings. " lily reassured ginny with a warm and kind smile. she had known the young witch since she was essentially born and had always felt maternal towards her and her siblings.

eyes didn't surprise her when she saw granger sitting with yet another book on such a gorgeous day , hiding away in a dark corner . this is how you usually found the other ; curled up in some darkened space with a stack of books with no interest in the outside world . smirking to herself , mel made her way over , hands in the pockets of her jacket . she spoke up again when the femme didn't hear her the first time . ❝ do you ever get out in the sun , granger ? or are you destined to be a lover of the shadows for your whole life ? ❞

" since you are curious, i will be relieved to know that i do ensure that i receive my daily dose of vitamin d, " though, she would never admit that most of the dose came through her multivitamins that she took daily. of course , molly could use magic to heal herself but that would take away the human element of it all . besides , there was always one doctor she could turn to when things went sour : lily potter . having trying to be quick about making dinner for arthur , the female had cut her hand with a knife and the cut was pretty deep . she wrapped it in a cloth and zapped herself to the clinic , standing in the reception area to see lily sweeping away in the other room . ❝ sorry , dear . i cut my hand pretty deep and i think i need stitches . can you help ? ❞

" the smile on lily's face was one of her friendliness as she motioned for the older witch to follow her into her office. acting on pure instinct, she begun disinfecting her hands before turning her attention to the other.
