Kyle knows that it was a big deal to bring Guy home with him, but he knows that his mother really wants to meet him after all these years. He can’t blame her since she has been listening to him talk about Guy for so long, even before they got together. “I know, I’m glad for that. I’m surrounded by so many amazing people. Adri has grown into an amazing woman, I’m proud of her.” He smiles softly as he’s pulled closer. “It’s settled then, next time you can join us. Hey! You say that like I’m a trouble maker.”

“Yeah!” Kyle replies as he stretches a bit as he gets comfortable. He’s patient so he can wait for Guy to come out from the kitchen. He can’t help the bright grin that was spread over his features seeing him though. “There you are, but yeah! I did, and she’s all for it. I think she’s just happy that I’m dating again. She was worried I’d end up alone or something.” He laughs softly, opening the beer to take a sip of it. Kyle takes a deep breath, still smiling however. “I told her that I think it’s a great idea.”

“My mom is already asking when I’m bringing you along for family dinner, you know.” Kyle says as he pulls his jacket off of his body. He hangs it up, and moves across the room to plop down on the man’s sofa. He spends a lot of time here, and doesn’t really mind it. He likes being around Guy. [ @cfguygardner ]

in truth , wyatt had no REAL reason for feeling these things. he just knew that he felt an overwhelming anger all the time that he usually couldn’t even breathe because it weighed so heavily on his chest. he used to be WORSE. it was the only thing that kept him going most days. adjusting to his new family and his new life had never been easy and wyatt has always been grateful for the family they were adopted into , even it didn’t always seem that way. “ i don’t - i don’t know. it’s stupid. i know i’m not. “ but part of him knows he’s not meant for the hero life… for something ELSE. maybe that ‘ something else ‘ is sinister. 

“Of course I am,” mags replies the grin on her features enough to show that she was quite content. she didn’t have to think about any of the stress of home out here, only the mission or training meaning that she was instantly more relaxed. Whether she was out here with Adri or Guy it was clear that she was at her happiest, clearly she was born to be out here, meant to be a green lantern or at least that’s how she rationalised it. “Oh no that doesn’t sound good,” she teased with a grin not really meaning it. “Something we need to talk about?”

Guy always loves to come out here with his daughter, to train her and practice with her and see how far she’s come. He’s so incredibly proud of her, more than he can ever put into words, and being out here with her only makes that pride grow. Not to mention it’s clear just how happy she is when she’s out here, and that’s what Guy wants more than anything else. “It is good, c’mon. Doesn’t always have to be bad news, right?” He says with a grin as he drifts a little closer to her. “Kyle ‘n I talked and - y’know, I told him how I felt. And he told me how he feels, so.. I guess we’re together now.”

“I don’t know, we always had something interrupting us didn’t we? There was always a new war to be fought, but we have time now. We have time for us.” Kyle suggests before their lips meet for another kiss. He stays so close to Guy, leaning in closer. “We can make up for all that time now though.”

It felt good to get all the feelings off of his chest. The two of them were finally doing this, not beating around the bush anymore. He can’t hold himself back from kissing Guy again. Only this time he’s moving so he can sit in his lap instead. He wanted to be able to look at him better, rather than sitting next to him.

“ i mean. i’m not… it’s not like i’ve ever been this… “ perfect son. “ been… good. “ wyatt had been a bit of a mess since before they were taken in by guy. in some ways , they got worse. but they had a family. people to call home. it wasn’t until recently that wyatt could say that he felt like things were going well and looking up for him. but something always happened that would destroy all of his hard work. wyatt never wanted his dad and family to worry over him so much but it happened anyways. 

“Yeah, you could say that.” Kyle says with a grin, teasing Guy of course. He knows that there was always other factors, but he’s glad they both finally admitted it though. They deserve something good like this.

“I love you, Guy.” Kyle repeats, his gaze staying focused on the other man’s.

Guy can’t stop the smile that splits his face at Kyle’s words. They’ve been partners for so long, friends for so long, but Guy never imagined they’d wind up here. To know that he was not only able to say what he’s held in for so long now, but got to hear it back, is incredible.

“i wouldn’t go that far… yeah alright,” she giggles. her trip to her dad’s has done it’s job for the most part. she’s far more settled then she had been walking through the door. sometimes just the reminder of home was all mags really needed to feel better when things were going wrong. she shakes her head then, that people could be so stupid, but she doesn’t argue. she had seen enough in her short time, heard stories about what had happened to her brother to know that not everyone was open minded as she had been raised to be. “i know,” she replies quickly. her father had been promising her the same thing since she was a child, that he would come back. the two of them had been lucky enough so far that it was one he hadn’t to break. god knew she would have been heartbroken without her father to take care of her and guide her through everything. it was strange now that she had developed a habit of telling him the very same thing. “the universe is just stuck with us, all five of us. it must have come to terms with the fact by now,”

things were good for awhile after wyatt was taken in by guy. sure , they had trouble for awhile getting wyatt to adjust but eventually he was officially adopted by guy. which was such an important day. that time seemed to be the most recent time when wyatt wasn’t feeling so heavy. he loved his new family - he loved them ALL so much. but he couldn’t help what he was feeling. 

“ i… i didn’t want to worry you either. dad. “ he didn’t want to make guy worry over him. and coming home late with a mix of his own blood and someone else’s blood on his clothes was definitely going to make his dad worry. he didn’t want to be a BURDEN. 

Guy knows the adjustment to their family hasn’t been easy for Wyatt. Even after all this time, there are still struggles, things he doesn’t always manage all that well. And that’s okay, that’s to be expected and not once as Guy held that against his son - all he wants to do is be here for Wyatt, to show him that he has a place in this universe even after everything he’s been through. The rest.. well, that’ll come with time. He hopes.

They’ve kissed plenty of times in the past, but this meant something new. There was a lot more feeling with this kiss. He was pouring all of his passion into it after saying those words back to Guy. He loves him more than he has ever loved anyone, that much is true. 

He kisses him back again, letting it linger long as he can get it to. “I meant it too. I love you so much, Guy. I just never knew how to tell you.”

“So what y’sayin’ is we’re both hopeless.” Guy says with a chuckle as he leans in for another kiss. The idea that they’ve both been holding back on this, that they’ve just never been able to find the words to say it so neither of them ever did, is a little comical to say the least.

balancing isabela on his hip, the ghostbuster and his little marshmallow monster traversed the festival.  ❛ it’s so busy here! i’m trying to keep bela from a sugar overload from how much candy people are giving her, but i feel like that’ll be impossible. ❜ of course, bart is mostly kidding. he’s making sure she’s moderating how much candy she eats. there will be lots and lots of dessert leftovers for days to come.

Kyle smiles as he walks back up to Guy holding up two drinks. “Now it’s not a my special mix, but I think these will do just fine. Here.” His hand holding out a cup to the other man. He was glad they were both here doing this together. As for himself he was dressed as a jurassic park ranger, nothing fancy, but he had a pair of tight shorts on that he could tell Guy liked. “This party isn’t so bad, what do you think?”

Kyle feels himself being nudged to wake up. He realizes then as he’s looking at their hands for a moment that this was real, not a dream. Which just makes him blush knowing that he admitted to Guy that he loves him, but that also means the other man loves him as well. This was really happening, and he wanted to pinch himself.

Kyle’s chin was lifted, eyes looking back at Guy’s. “Hey.” He replies before they kiss, and he returns it as he kisses him back passionately. It was an amazing kiss, and one that was going to open new doors for them.

They’ve done this a thousand times before. It’s not like Kyle’s never kissed him, but there’s something different about it now. Something new, something else, and Guy wants more of it. He wants more kisses like this, more of this overwhelming swelling in his heart, filled with utter amazement at the fact that Kyle loves him.

mags laughs then, it’s the teasing kind that seemed roll off her tongue when she was with the other. a sign of how close the two of them were she was sure. “i’m just not sure how well your’s would compare,” she shrugged jokingly. as if she didn’t adore everything that her father did. “well then i’m sorry humans are stupid… i mean superman is right there he’s incredibly real,” she replied. her mind had always been like this, taken up with out there among the stars rather then grounded on her earth. she could hear her mother criticising her for it, telling her that she was going to end up just like her father, but for mags that was all she had ever wanted. she hugs her father back, grateful for the contact. “more important than the safety of the entire sector and everyone that loves in it including myself?” she asked shaking her head slightly. mags knew what it was he was trying to say but that didn’t mean she agreed.
