i miss when i used to go to a club and everyone actually had variety in their avatars as opposed to the same m3/kemono/paws head+kemono body+probably krankhaus clothing combo lmao ik sl is about doing whatever the fuck you want but it gets depressing when u go somewhere and everyone looks the fuckin same
The problem is modding has become a consumer culture. Everything is done via script and appliers. People have forgotten how to build, how to texture, and how to mod.
I remember back before I was a modder I bought mods and spent hours putting them together. That is no longer required and it’s no longer a fun activity. What used to be a past time to spend with friends making something new and unusual. Is now a slap it on job.
You should see how many regular IMs and note-cards about where I got everything in my mods from, eyebrows, hair, and eyes. People want the avatar they see in the product image for a mod as opposed to customizing it even in the slightest.
I think those people have always existed - the ones who don’t want to spend hours tweaking their avatar to be unique and want to put together what they see in the picture, BECAUSE IT LOOKS COOL
Why are they a problem? They are doing whatever the fuck they want. They’re happy doing their thing.
That’s all that matters.
Too many damn Kemonos? Back in the day there were too many damn Kanis and too many damn Curious cats and too many damn ringtails and chinchillas! Many of them just had mods slapped on too! :P
Wait, people used to have different avs? I been on SL for 8 years. It has always been the mainstream stuff, barely modded, save for those few people who actually gave half a fuck to be different. And half of those people were ugly fucks, but that’s what they liked. xD
So honestly, it’s never really changed. It’s just easier to toss skin mods onto mesh.
TFW you didn’t bother to read all of Zii’s post and pretty much said similar. Uhm, uhm... I’m just reiterating!
