                   Alrighty! So it’s been kind of a long time coming probably, but I’m gonna archive this blog! I apologize for anyone who was waiting for a reply, or who wanted to continue roleplaying but I’ve just lost…any motivation to be over here, honestly. I might remake this blog in the future, but it’s going to be super private where I only rp with like 1 or 2 people, and so it won’t make any sense to promote it. I really liked rping with you guys and it was fun while it lasted but, I’ve got to be honest with myself, I just feel guilty that I keep ocming around saying I’ll rp and I only do so once in a while.

                 If you’d like to keep up with me, though, I’ll be over on @circuitboardskin among two or three other blogs. Feel free to follow over there, or don’t. So yee. Sorry for any disappointment or w/e, love ya guys.

                   “Can you be any louder, usuratonkachi?”

          Sasuke shook his head at the over-excited blond. It still baffled him sometimes how Naruto managed to become the contender he was. He was the exact definition of appearances could be deceiving. At least, in some sense. Sasuke still didn’t quite believe him to be capable with every aspect of being a shinobi--and this mission was one of those.

Itachi stared at the title dubiously, not quite convinced that this was something Sasuke would choose to see. At least for his own enjoyment. The digital advertisement for the film seemed almost… juvenile. Loud and childish, but perhaps Sasuke knew a bit more about the premise than he did?

He returned his beloved little brother’s smirk with an accepting smile of his own.

“Well, I don’t see why not. It’s worth a try.”

It was his brother’s night, in any case. He would watch anything Sasuke wished.

                   “Tch.” The way in which Itachi accepted made this whole situation actually pretty funny. Sasuke almost laughed, and had to wonder if he wasn’t having some kind of episode. “It’s not. But I think your reaction will be worth it.” 

          Because even Itachi wouldn’t be able to remain impassive throughout the whole thing. Sasuke was sure it would provide some measure of entertainment, as he had been able to sit through Naruto’s stupid movies before, but he had never put his brother through that. It was likely going to be a kind of torture. He wondered if that was fair and decided it didn’t matter. Whatever worked to keep him amused.

“It’s alright, I understand,” Iruka assured. The teacher was surprised to get any response at all. He would have been happy to just move on to his chapter book. 

“I know. The nightmares are scary and the pain medication makes you feel less in control than you felt before, right?”  He assumed Sasuke meant nightmares, that he was not currently having flashbacks and mislabelling them. His own nightmares had yet to stop in nearly two decades; he understood the fear. “And yes, they’re dead.”

“You don’t have to look at me, it’s alright, but you do need sleep. Not right now, but you’ll start feeling worse if you don’t get some rest.” The doctors would eventually order a sedative, regardless of his consent if he actually managed to keep it up too long. Iruka suspected they would not have to, that Sasuke would pass out from exhaustion long before they needed to intervene and that it might make sleeping seem even more traumatizing for him. 

“You can work up to it. Is there anything that might make you feel safer? Tea always helped me, and sometimes keeping my shoes on inside.” The latter was one of the sillier things that had helped him calm down in the past. Sharing his own silly or embarrassing moments often helped his students open up about things they felt ashamed about. He hoped it might work with Sasuke as well. 

      Sasuke gave a short, jerky nod at the assessment of his disjointed words. He was glad Iruka understood and that he didn’t have to repeat or elaborate. He didn’t think he could even if he wanted to. The assertion of death did nothing to alleviate his concern. They were physically dead, but in the broken landscape of his thoughts, they would exist and that was enough. Sasuke picked at the edge of a bandage on his hand, and just listened for a moment. 

         He was tired enough already He doubted he would last for much longer, but whether sleep would be peaceful was another story altogether. Sasuke would try to fight it for as long as he could, but he knew it would win. The darkness always did in the end. How could he fight his nightmares, though, when sometimes he couldn’t even separate them in his waking moments? Sasuke shied away from these thoughts. They led to dark places where hell lurked.
