What an amazing job!!!
Now I can see why you speak so naturally, you work hard on it!
I want to comment 3 things:
1-When you say something like there was a fight between both humans If I understood I well, you should say “a fight between both kinds of humans”
2-You say something like “he choose the side of the girl he wanted” I do not know, but maybe you thought in your mother tongue and translated literally “él quería”
3-”The film is English without subtitles“, I would say “The film is available English without subtitles”
Please tell me what do you think about those issues.
About those affairs, I give the reason to you in the first one, in the second one, I mayhaps forgot to add “He chose the side of the girld he wanted to be with” and about the third affair the sentence I said is right, I perhaps missed the “in”, “the film is in English without subtitles”

Something to share
Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well.
On saturday I presented uni’s admission exam, and also TOEFL itp (this one is only for institutions), so I’ll tell you the little story of that day.
The night before (friday’s night) I couldn’t sleep because of being thinking about the exam, later I fell asleep but I got a cramp in my left leg and I don’t remember how many time I did hold it before falling asleep again.
I woke up at four thirty in the morning, prepared my breakfast, took a shower and waited for my dad to be ready to take me to UNI; when I arrived I met two people of my age on my way to the faculty, who were about to present for the same career as me, so we were talking about the exam and how nervous we were, when we arrived I said goodbye to them and I did head to the classroom in which I was going to take the exam; The time arrived and I held the exam in my hands, looking at it, when I opened it, I thought it was easy, and mostly it was, afterwards the first exam was done, everything ok.
I had one hour of recess before taking TOEFL, once again I got in the classroom and took the exam on my hands, this time the TOEFLitp, the teacher talked to us in English and I thought “well, this is going to be easier than the first one”. The exam was divided in three sections: 1.-Listening, 2.-Grammar and 3.-Reading
First section, Listening, when I listen to the first ten questions I thought “this is easy, everything will be ok” but then I listened to a lecture where I had to remember all and then answer like 8 questions, so I was like :O what the hell is this I can barely remember part of it, and you ask me about an entire lecture, God of mine; but the second section was easier and I didn’t have problems answering it, the third one was a bit tough, but I think I will pass.
I want to be in the bilingual stream of the faculty, but if not, I’ve two more chances to get in (second and third semester) and I’ll have to get a higher progress in English.
Pray for me friends.
Have a nice week.
A goal achieved
Hello ENS community, about two months I presented an exam called EXCI (Exam of English Competence by its initials in Spanish), and also all the school presented it.
Well the outcomes arrived this week and it resulted that I had the best score of the entire school, so that could say that, mayhaps, I’ve the highest level of english of the school, anyway, I was very happy not for being the first place but for having a level which I taught was the correct for me.
And so I want to thank Jeff, and all the members of this community who helped me to study, and progress in the management of this important language called English.
The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams.

Other sentence/phrase I saw lately was: “Don’t waste the time living other’s life”

Can a man change his stars?
While watching one of my favourites movies (A knight’s tale) that has Heath Ledger as protagonist in it, I listen to a very heart touching sentence, actually a question, CAN A MAN CHANGE HIS STARS?
If you have watched the movie before you’ll understand my point, if not, well I shall introduce you a little to the film and I will say what I want to say.
So this movie concerns William Tacher, a poor man’s son who had always dreamt to be a Knight, but you know, technically that was impossible in the medieval ages, but his father effort makes him a squire, and when the knight he served dies, he take the chance and lies about his birth, becoming “a Knight”, I’m not going to spoil you the final if you haven’t seen it, so I’ll proceed with my point.
Our parents make lots of effort to give us tools that we have to take to make our path, now in this globalized era we can even find the tools by our own, and make our path better, and we end up saying what we all say, work is the base of success, and we must work hard to achieve what we want, so yes, we can change our stars, working, focusing on a goal and reaching it.
Now, I challenge you to work hard, well and change your stars.
Have a nice day.
Can a man change his stars?
Hi, well, it is a metaphor, when they say “stars” it means destiny

Is pronunciation really Important?
Back in this semester I had a class of english, and we touched the topic about accents and pronunciation, so I recall that my teacher stated that we have to be proud of our accent, and she said that we seem bad when we try to imitate another’s accent, I dared not to reply to that statement, but as a language learner, I think that’s a conformist view; So here it’s what I think:
1.-As language learners we have to make our accent as understandable as possible, so whether our accent is very marked or not, the thing is that if people can not understand you, you’re doing something wrong.
2.-Phonetics is very important: more in english which I’ve thought has some tough words, though its simplicity in verbal times. Mayhaps I’m saying a word which I didn’t mean to say and I don’t know. (This thing is worse in French)
3.-If people understands you, you can make a social relation with them easier, and so they know they wouldn’t be trying to catch each word you try to say. (This is not at the beggining, when you’re first starting to learn mistakes are part of our daily life, so don’t be ashamed)
Practice leads to perfection... So practice my friends.
Great Podcast Parveen! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Keep up the great work and keep working together!
Hi Praveen, this topic is very interesting I’d heard about it lately, have you heard also of other benefits of it? Learning a new language creates new paths/ways/trails between our neurons (brain cells) so it makes information going faster and make the proccess of learning even faster that’s why people say that learning a third language can be quite easy (I can assure that because I’m learning French and it’s been very easy for me, though my natiive language is Spanish which is pretty similar to it), moreover it retards the appearance of dieseases as Parkinson and Alzheimer.
Great podcast, keep doing stuff like this.
At the age of 21, I got out of college, broke and in debt, and by the time I was 30, I was a millionaire.
Hi Aftab, I find this information very useful and not only about money, it is useful because everything you want needs an investment/expense of your own to become true.
Now I’m investing time practicing my english, so normally, my english will become better.
Other thing I found as chief was the part of shooting high, very high...
Some people here in the community know about my desire of going to Australia on a scholar exchange in two or three years. When I said my mom I wanted to go to Australia if I get the exchange she ask me why Australia being us, in Mexico, near from Canada and nearer from the USA, so I said to her that I’ll need a big quantity of money to reach the goal of going to Australia, do I’ll try to save too much money, and if I do not get it... look I’ll travel to Canada or the USA without problems. That’s the big deal with shooting high.
Work and time lead you to your goals, but having money can make things faster.
Have a nice day, great information.
Cheers from Mexico
