will’s lips twitch up into a genuine smile of relief at that. “yeah, i don’t know..the light is perfect and you’re..” he gestures like that statement will finish itself even though he’s not even sure what he would say. “thank you.”

“The light’s perfect and I’m...?” He shook his head, laughing. “You’re welcome. If you’re good enough at drawing, maybe I could pay you for drawing something for me? Kind of liven up my living space a bit.” 

“I don’t drink either but whatever.” Troy had run into stranger things in this town already, despite not having been here long. While it bothered the part of him that wanted to understand and contextualize everything, he realized when a fight wasn’t worth it. “This entire thing is bizarre. D’you wonder if maybe it’s, like, a mass hallucination? ‘Cause I just… don’t have an explanation for this.”

“Mass hallucination’s a new one. Though a high possibility, I guess. But even then, how would that work with some people being here longer than others and others just showing up?” He asked, shaking his head. “If you ever do find an explanation, let me know. I’m Alec, by the way. I don’t think I’ve told you my name yet.” 

Max can’t help the ANNOYED eye roll as he shoots a soft glare at his brother, hating how his family still SAW him as a incompetent little kid. Hands fly to the stele that was secured in his pocket, bringing it out before giving it a wave, “OF course. I’m NOT a little kid anymore. I’m a shadowhunter JUST like you.” The male said with a huff though a smile preys onto his lips, “Why? Are we going on a MISSION?” Unable to hide the excitement that was laced within his words.

Alec rolled his eyes. “I know you’re not a little kid anymore. But you’re still my younger brother.” It worried Alec just slightly how excited the other seemed. “No, we thankfully don’t have to worry about that here. Actually I haven’t even seen any demons besides the one Warlock, but so far he seems innocent enough. I just wanted to make sure you had something just in case of anything, Max.”

Alec snorted, glancing over at her. “The only person checking me out will be the person ringing up my coffee in a bit.” He replied, shaking his head. 

“i’m sorry if i’m interrupting something.” will spoke quietly as he approached the person, hands tucked behind his back to keep from fiddling too much. “would you mind if i drew you? you just, um, you look really nice with the backdrop. it’s sort of inspiring.”

Alec looked up, shaking his head. “No, it’s... I should probably be - “ He tilted his head slightly. “Inspiring?” Alec asked with a snort. “Sure, I mean I really have nothing better to do right now so, I guess I can stay out a bit longer.”
