The TADC story at the end of the day is a story about finding a reason to live and survive despite living a hopeless life, learning to live with your new reality despite never wanting to be part of it. Accepting reality.

The inanimate insanity story is about how despite only existing for one purpose, being gags, jokes, you can be more than that, you can live to make something of your life.

The concept of choosing your own life is very similar amongst these 2 stories.

Hell if you wanna get meta, even the main protagonists for the ending are similar.

Where tadc goes wrong is a few things

Pomni and Suitcase, Jax and Knife. Their arcs feel familiar to eachother, however the latter for both do it better.

1: the show focuses way too much on Jax and her angst. The rest of the cast is sidelined for jax jax jax and maybe pomni. Name me 5 things about ragatha outside of "she is nice."

2: the show simply is too short. Tadc has 9 episodes to tell its story, inanimate insanity has 37 if you only count seasons 1-3. It had 10+ years to tell its story.

3: the characters have little to them. Everyone who isnt jax had maybe 2 things to their character and that is that. Inanimate insanity, while also having some bland characters, makes more of them.

And finally, the main antagonists of Mephone and Caine.

TADC was rushed and ruined by favoritism. II actually took its time and was clearly made w passion and care

Almost all the characters worked hard and built up solid relationships, good or bad, and worked together. They genuinely struggled for what they wanted.

And while we know that's true for TADC, they told but never showed. A lot of important build up and development is rushed and it just feels half assed

Mephone is an ai yes, but he is an ai with more to him than caine has. Same idea, but mephones execution was much better.
