Since we know Marius was some sort of Ghoul priest on Fort Galfridian, I wonder if he ever met Mordred. I just really love the idea of Hanged Man Brian, Green Knight Tim, and Ghoul Priest Marius all being various flavors of “kooky estranged uncle” for Mordred. Family is important and Mordred isn’t one to disregard his elders so he just kind of accepts them in. Tim is a somewhat awful influence, but he still cares and so Mordred likes him well enough. Brian is an interesting case, because Arthur evidently doesn’t like it when Mordred goes to visit him but he is very nice and is always open to lend an ear when Mordred needs, so Brian is his favorite. He sees Marius the least as he’s out wandering quite a lot and Mordred doesn’t have the time to seek him out, but Marius does always return with new fun gadgets to show him and other things he’s discovered in various sectors of the station, so he looks forward to when Marius visits. I think Gawain on the other hand would do his best to avoid being vulnerable at all and pointedly ignore Tim and Marius the same way he did with Brian. One day Marius would come up to him and put on his psychoanalysis face and after a few minutes of uncomfortable silence go “your lack of foundational guiding figures in your life who connected with you on an emotional level has let your trust issues fester and get worse, and so your only outlet has become violence, hasn’t it? And Gawain would just Olympic track star sprint in the other direction as fast as he could. I think Tim and Gawain would have like one singular interaction in which they’d talk minimally, realize how alike they were, and sit in a very melancholic silence for a while before going their separate ways and never looking back. Gawain doesn’t want to treat Tim as what he’s destined to turn into, and Tim knows there’s nothing he can do for Gawain now, so there’s no point in them talking again.
