“    ARTERIUS.    ”    THE NAME IS ALMOST SPAT,  WITH LIPS ROLLING BACK, BARING TEETH.  she teeters on the edge of aggressive, all while remaining in place.  chin juts outward, CONFIDENT  ;  matching the sure narrow of her eyes.  there is no waver to her posture, her gaze.  in truth, she UNDERSTANDS his methods  ------  a cold heart and a sharp mind to make the decisions no one less CAN.  and yet!  finally, ‘tween grit teeth, she snaps  -----------    “    is there something i can do for you?    ”

“    DOCTOR, IT WAS JUST A GRAZE.  I’LL BE FINE.    ”    the bleeding has stopped already.  the wound is deep enough to raise SOME concern,  perhaps.  but in truth,  it would heal quickly, and wouldn’t hinder her abilities.    “    if you could please tell the commander i’m FIT for the next mission  ----------    ”    her words trail off, accompanied by a look that says this is not a REQUEST.  no, the polite yet firm edge to her tone says this is much more akin to an order.

“    YOUR WORK ON OMEGA WAS IMPRESSIVE, MR. VAKARIAN.  you certainly got  ----------------    ”    a wry smile curves, just barely, at the edge of her lips.   “   results.   ”    the large scar marring his features is TESTAMENT to that.  takes dedication  ----  and no small amount of skill  ----  to piss off every major gang on that hellhole of a station.  hands come to clasp each other behind her back, spine straight and brows pulled taut.  there’s something like respect in the cold blue of her gaze.    “    as was your work with shepard to take down that rogue spectre, saren.    ”
