Birthday Princess on Vacation!

It’s my one very special day of the year for a beloved girl that’s very close to my own heart! Hatsune Miku is celebrating her 13th anniversary this year! She’s taking up a cute, sugary sweet style and hitting the beach on vacay before summer wraps up! She’s got everything she needs to have an awesome day in that cute Miku way of hers. Seems she brought along a bunch of song references as well! It wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without all the music, after all. 13 years of songs, art, festivals, expos, laughs, tears, and endless possibilities. From the magical stages across Japan and around the world, to the snow covered winter streets of her hometown Sapporo, to the racetracks where she reigns supreme, to being a fashion model for apparel and game collabs (and even vehicles!), and into the wonderful lyrics she sends our way, Miku is a traveling queen! Thank you to all those artists, creators, and producers that made Miku who she is today. We wouldn’t be here without you all. The future holds no bounds for our twintailed star. Did she decide to get some remodel upgrades after her reconstruction? Whatever the case, she’s ready for summer!

Was listening to Mega Man music and decided I felt like drawing one of the handful of female characters in the series. Always liked the Masters designs and Splash is no exception! Tried to include some nods to Leviathan in her design since those two are so closely knit.

Maybe she’ll finally agree to do some karaoke on the party deck!

The Fighting Star of Seventh Heaven!

Dilly-Dally, Shilly-Shally! I’ll show ‘em fists of fury!

Well it took a little while, but I’m finally able to show my love for Tifa’s awesome remake design! Luckily, it just so happens that her birthday was at the beginning of May!

Tifa is one of the earliest female video game characters that I was introduced to, and one of my first Final Fantasy characters (along with Yuna and Rikku) I ran into. I just loved her no-nonsense, yet motherly personality that was ready to encourage you and provide emotional support when you needed it. Mix that with badass martial arts skills and running her very own bar, she was so awesome! I’ve wanted to draw her for so long since my childhood, so the remake coming out was my finally my chance to do it! 

Playing the original Final Fantasy 7 was cool, but I can’t wait to play the remake myself! Cheers to more of the Pull-Up Queen in the future as the remake continues. “I’ll SMASH ‘EM!”
