We really need a director's cut of this movie or even a fan made cut including all the deleted scenes, and if you've seen the deleted scenes you'll immediately know why. But some reasons include:

-Look at the amazing visual language of this scene for instance. It tells you a lot in a few shots about Ella's position in her family (notice the size of the umbrellas and the fact that she only has one dress so her only mourning attire is a black ribbon, which still is kind of shown in the final cut but not like this at all).

-The scene of her writing and sending the prince a letter which gets destroyed by the Grand Duke in secret. This scene specially would end the discourse around how this version of Cinderella is perceived as too passive, when she isn't. That scene shows that she, more than most versions even, went looking for the prince herself after the ball (Cinderella 3 vibes).

-A few scenes that are expanded, showing the family dynamic a little bit more in depth or that scene after the stroke of midnight where she runs into the Grand Duke, adding more suspense.

Some of these scenes where included in the novelization, which I recommend if you also love this movie.
