a matte-coated head tilted to one side as his friend let a laught escape her.

「 consider me suprised, mistress athena - although i must admit, your approval does provide some form of comfort. 」

a metallic claw, accented in gold, rested itself upon her hand - this was probably the first time they actually made contact. it was a strange moment.

「 i would be elated too, mistress athena. every moment in your presence is a moment of the divines. 」

the contact is, as zenyatta thought, strange.

for a being who spent her entire life as code, physical contact held little attraction for her. being able to feel is sometimes too much; overwhelming and loud. but there are other times, athena has come to find, when it can be welcomed. enjoyed, even.

a hand in hers, the soft hum of mechanical parts combined with the warmth of metallic flesh-- it is welcomed. her fingers curl around his. he is welcomed, strange as it may be.

“ ………… y-yes?”

He can’t shake the stupid wide grin off his face, so he just gives her a shrug.

“For April Fools! And to be real honest with ya… it was REALLY fuckin’ funny.” And he’d do it again, given the opportunity.

“I uh… I shot Lúcio with a water gun full of mayonnaise.”

she holds up a hand, taking a moment to simply cycle air through her systems. shoulders rise and fall in a sigh. her eyes gaze upward, as though searching for someone who can provide answers. finally, though, she just turns back to the cowboy.

“Some of y’all have it too easy. The other day Lúcio got mayonnaise in his face and his cereal.”

「 oh, it was non-consensual, i assure you so i, of course, made sure they understood that. as well as show them the proper form of giving someone pain a hair’s breath from unbearable. 」

she chuckles softly, unable to help herself.

「 you say that, but i know for certain i have been the target of a few games of ‘how do omnics react to tasers?’ 」

“That was nice of ‘him.” McCree wasn’t too close with Winston but he seemed like a good guy(?, gorilla?). Anyways McCree had been wondering what her body was, but hadn’t worked up the nerve to ask. 

“No problem ms, so should I go grab my stuff so we can head out to get ya something to help with the tiredness?”
