jesse being the only character in the room with a fucking backbone and openly berating gus for using kids in the business is so fucking satisfying, even if it ultimately doesnt save those kids in the end. no one supports him, not walt (who's a father) or mike (who was a father and is now a grandfather), but jesse doesnt back down because this is something he actually, fully, wholeheartedly Believes in and isnt willing to back down on. his "soft spot" for kids isnt just that, its a sincere passion for them and for protecting them. he'll put his life in jeopardy for them. and no one else has the spine to stand alongside him. another drop in the "jesse as a christ like figure" allegory bucket sure, but on a base level it just feels good as fuck to see jesse stand up for whats right and not kowtow to anyone else

what's funny about people editing walter white in a badass way is that they use the same 10 clips where he just stares into the distance because the rest of the show is just him looking around scared or confused while breathing heavily through his mouth

god i love people watching breaking bad for the first time and being blown away by aaron paul as jesse. like u can go in knowing Everything, knowing about the awards and acclaim and posts and scenes, but nothing can prepare u for the actual experience of seeing a completely real, fully fleshed-out person spring out of that actor's forehead fully formed. aaron paul would go on set, absolutely body scenes like no one else has before, and then leave like "ahaha idk man i just do it, ive never done an acting class i just fucking do the acting". its unbelievable.
