Saying Each Otherâs Names
https://youtu.be/BIiabwynmOc
I love this âĄâĄâĄ
I love the way Molly says his name. And how this just gets more tense and frantic - especially at that end. Itâs particularly telling that Sherlock says Mollyâs name a lot more than she says hisâŚ
NAILED IT!! đ

I donât think that you can fake warmth. You can fake lust, jealousy, anger; those are all quite easy. But actual, genuine warmth? I donât think you can fake it.
Too late, I thought. It wasnât.

Prompt of the day - 4/4/18
Shipwrecked SherlollyâSherlock saves Molly from drowning. Â - Anonymous
Strong arms wrapped around her, hauling up from the depths into which sheâd nearly lost her life. She coughed and choked as her head broke free of the icy waves; lighting flashed, thunder roared, and the firey hulk that had once been her pride and joy - her beloved ship Bartholomew - slowly disappeared beneath the waves.Â
It was almost the last sight she saw before unconsciousness claimed her - eclipsed only by the merest glimpse of the man whoâd saved her.
A man she knew for certain had not been part of her crew.
TBC?
Sherlock gazed at the unconscious woman whose life he literally held in his hands. All he had to do was let go, watch as the ocean claimed her the way it had claimed her ship and most of her crew. But something about her made him pause; heâd brought her to the surface that she might watch her wretched ship burn and sink, or so heâd told himself at the time. Having achieved that goal, why now did he hesitate?
A sound, a splash barely heard above the angry crashing of waves and the booming thunder, but one that nevertheless caught his attention. He turned his eyes from the unconscious sea captainâs face and met the quizzical gaze of his PodMate Victor. âNot like you to take a fancy to a pretty face, Yellowbeard,â he said lightly. âEspecially not a human.â
âSheâsâŚdifferent,â Sherlock murmured, ignoring the childish nickname, stolen from a human pirate whoâd long since met his doom and whose bones now decorated the bottom of the ocean not far from here.
âDifferent?â Victor swam closer, peered into her face, then back up at Sherlock. âHow?â
He shook his head. âI donât know,â he admitted. âBut I plan to find out.â
Victor shrugged. âSuit yourself. Weâve done as the Queen asked and sunk the ship for trespassing above our territory; she said nothing about taking prisonersâŚbut then again,â he added with a grin, âshe didnât say we couldnât.â
With a flick of his tail, he vanished beneath the waves, leaving Sherock and the unconscious woman alone together.
With one last, lingering glance at her face, he pulled her away from the wreckage of her ship and toward one of the many small islands his ancestors had created millenia ago.
The strong pull he felt towards her was a mystery, and Sherlock of the Hâolmes clan of Merfolk was never one to ignore a mystery.

Best scene.
When sherlock lifted his eyes from the microscope, he sees Molly as if for the first time. Itâs as if heâs always underestimated Molly till then. Molly deduced Sherlock, which impressed him.
âYou can see meâ
Mycroft sees Sherlock as a drug dependent annoying little brother
John sees Sherlock as a friend and colleague, but he doesnât truly see Sherlock for who he is.
But Molly sees Sherlock, all of him. Sheâs possibly the only one who has ever seen him before. She observes him and heâs attracted to that. He begins to fall in love with her.
Honestly, we never know how someone is perceiving the words we utter. Watch what you say and be kind with your words. It could make or break someoneâs day, week, year or even life.

In the âI love Youâ exchange, the most mature Sherlock had been, was this moment:
If itâs true, then say it anyway.
Itâs like for this single moment, he forgot there was a bomb. This is the first time he has understood how much Molly loves him. This is, also, a sudden glimpse of him taking responsibility for her feelings.
Can I butt in here? I love this post because it zeroes in on this slightly underrated moment, one which to me seems so so important and yet I could never clearly articulate what it is that makes it so special.
Itâs just a moment and it passes quickly, but for that moment, it takes their relationship to a completely new dimension. I remember trying to put my finger on what it was about the way he says âIf itâs true just say it anywayâ that really hit me. I know a lot of people saw the change in his voice and expression as Sherlock snapping out of his panic and being pragmatic, focusing on the task. But to me, it was something else.
It was special because there was something so very intimate about the way he addresses her here. Like @rosamundi says, itâs like for a moment he forgot about the bomb. I would add, he forgot about everything, Everything else disappears and itâs truly an instance of remarkable acting by Benedict. Everything stops and thereâs just the two of them, face to face. This is not Sherlock playing Eurusâ game, trying to save Mollyâs life, trying to win. This is just Sherlock suddenly being drawn out of his surroundings, his context, himself. Sherlock just wanting to hear Molly telling him she loves him. Itâs Sherlock suddenly and unexpectedly ready to hear it. Wanting to finally hear it.
Not that he would know what to do about it or that he would happily reciprocate. Oh, no, that would be too simple and it wouldnât be Sherlock and Molly at all. But from some murky depth, from some place that has been simmering and growing, that has been repressed and rationalized and has remained incoherent, something suddenly surfaces for a moment amidst all the pressure and takes over.
Iâve said before that in this scene Molly finally decides to stop playing the game that theyâve been playing to preserve their friendship and his illusions about himself. I always gave all the credit for âno more gamesâ to her because to me this was so clearly there from the moment she first responds to his request. But watching and hearing Sherlock in this moment, itâs like it was a split second transformation for him too, a fleeting moment of unrationalised gut reaction clarity where he actually dares her to indeed stop playing the game.Â
Nothing about this is simple and straightforward, but thatâs just Sherlock and Molly. They are so deliciously complicated together and I just love the writers for giving them that.
This! @mel-loves-all
âSorry.â
Married
That time Watson managed to get Sherlockâs attention from The Woman.
"What the blazes are you doing!" Sherlolly, please and thank you!
I reeeally liked this one! A good fit for some romantic Victorian sherlolly. â¤ď¸Â
âWhat the blazes are you doing?!â Molly demanded, a blush flooding her cheeks as she was, admittedly quite expertly, swept along the dance floor by Sherlock Holmes.
âI thought cutting in while you were waltzing with your fiancĂŠ would have made it all rather obvious,â he replied with a little smirk.
âI can endure no more of these games, Mr. Holmes,â she stated firmly, the tiny quiver in her chin giving away the depth of her frustration. âIf you wish to be rid of me as youâve made so very plain in the past, then I beg you do not pull me from the arms of a man who genuinely wants me!â
Sherlock came to a full stop on the dance floor, uncaring of the couples who continued to move around them, intensely focusing his gaze and attention on nothing but her as he spoke just loud enough for her to hear above the music.
âMiss Hooper, in the interest of doing away with games as you so wisely suggest, if you should want to stay within the arms of a man who wants you, then I must now be the one to beg of youâŚstay here.â

I think it would have to be Molly, wouldnât it? Love for him after all, would be thinking more - maybe thatâs asking too much - maybe thinking as much of someone else as he thinks of himself.
Benedict Cumberbatch on Sherlockâs love interest [X] (via doctor-molly-hooper-holmes)
Sherlock Holmes is such a smug bastard in TEH
So, when he and Molly get done with the skeleton, and continue the London case, thereâs the bit where Molly questions âCar?â and Shilcott replies with âTheyâre cars, not carriages.â She gives Sherlock a âlookâ and Sherlock responds rather wittily âHe said he liked trainsâŚâ
Molly stifles a laugh -
The scene then cuts back to Mr. Holmes for no good reason other than to show how pleased he is with himself for LITERALLY less than 2 seconds.
He is extremely pleased with himself, knowing that she actually found him amusing.. And he was trying!!
Mind you, this scene is followed by âThe one person who mattered the mostâ
