Biography:
tw: death
Celina Bianchi was born on October 10th, 2005. Raised almost entirely at sea, her childhood was anything but ordinary. The daughter of two marine biologists, her mother, Alessia Vitale, and her father, Mateo Bianch. Celina grew up aboard their research vessel, where the ocean became her home long before she ever understood what a “normal” life looked like. From an early age, Celina was surrounded by water. She learned to swim when she was young. By the time she was a child, she was already joining them on fieldwork, helping label samples, watching them document marine life, and asking endless questions about everything they encountered. Coral reefs, open waters, quiet coves, each new location became part of her upbringing, shaping her understanding of the world. Her education reflected that same unique lifestyle. Homeschooled for most of her life, Celina’s lessons often took place on the deck of the boat, in small coastal towns, or wherever their research brought them. She grew into someone naturally intelligent and thoughtful, with a calm, level-headed way of approaching things. She loved learning, especially when it connected to the ocean, but she was just as drawn to stories, languages, and the cultures she encountered along the way. Celina’s childhood was filled with adventures that became memories. Diving into clear blue water at sunrise, spotting dolphins racing alongside the boat, and collecting shells. There were moments of excitement, as sudden storms that tested both her parents’ skills and her own.
Celina spent her teenage years growing up on her parents’ research boat, traveling the world as they worked as marine biologists. Homeschooled and constantly on the move, she had a unique upbringing but often longed for stability and connection. By her senior year, she wanted a real high school experience, leading her parents to send her to Kismet Harbor. Though her grandfather lived there, she stayed with a host family, the Cowans. Andrew Cowan, his daughter Felicity, and their friend Micah welcomed her into their home. Shy at first, Celina slowly opened up, especially with Felicity, who became her closest friend and helped her with English as it was not her first language. The two bonded over their shared love of art and reading, often spending afternoons together at the local bookstore. Celina quickly grew to love life in Kismet Harbor. She enjoyed attending a real school, especially art, a love that she had developed through years of visiting museums. Outside of school, she worked at her grandfather’s restaurant, wanting to support him after her grandmother’s passing. After graduating high school, Celina chose to stay in Kismet Harbor, continuing her work at her grandfather’s restaurant while taking classes at the local college. Celina always kept up her long-standing tradition of weekly calls with her aunt, Chiara, discussing both her personal life and the restaurant. Their close bond had been a constant throughout her upbringing. As a graduation gift, Celina’s parents bought her a home, giving her the sense of stability she had always craved after a childhood spent at sea. Though her parents still traveled for their work, they visited whenever they could. They also left their dog, Romeo, a protective Belgian Malinois, with her. Celina had missed him dearly, so she was glad that she had him to keep her company.
Adjusting to life in Kismet Harbor had finally begun to feel natural for Celina, as she balanced her college classes with long hours at her family’s restaurant. Just as things seemed to be falling into place, her world was shaken by the devastating news that her mother had passed away in a tragic accident in January of 2026. The loss hit Celina deeply, leaving her grieving and unsteady, struggling to imagine life without her. In the aftermath, she leaned heavily on her family, especially her father, who moved in with her for a time to help her through the worst of it. They had always shared a close bond, and his presence brought her comfort in a way nothing else could. She also found an unexpected source of understanding in Felicity, who had experienced the loss of her own mother years before. Felicity’s empathy and unwavering support became something Celina relied on deeply, offering her a sense of comfort that only someone who truly understood could give. When her father eventually had to return to work, her aunt Chiara moved back to Kismet Harbor in March, becoming another steady presence in her life. Surrounded by people who cared for her, Celina slowly began to find her footing again, leaning on them in ways she never had before. Celina is still learning how to navigate life without her mother, taking each day as it comes while holding tightly to the people who have become her anchor. She remains close to her father and aunt, and continues to lean on the friendships she built in Kismet Harbor, especially Felicity, whose understanding and steady presence have meant everything during her grief. Surrounded by a support system that feels like home, Celina is slowly finding her strength again, even in the quiet moments where loss still lingers. At the same time, she is moving forward, working toward her degree in marine biology and following in the footsteps of her family. The ocean, once the backdrop of her childhood, now feels like a connection to both her past and her future. She plans to spend part of the summer back out at sea with her father, returning to the life she once knew while carrying everything she has gained in Kismet Harbor with her.
