So Paralives came out while I was on vacation but I just could not wait to check it out until I went home so I used my friend's set-up to record a lil first impression video~
5 transformer cribs made from cribs by Simaddict99.
These are 2-in-1 crib/toddler beds. Just one click on the bed to convert it from one model to another. The crib can be used for babies and toddlers, the toddler bed is for toddlers only. They can use the toddler bed by themselves.
The cribs are all repo'd to the game files. They have a new guide, so you can keep the cribs and the transformercribs (if you want)

Playing Sims 2 made me realize how limited social interactions were compared to other Sims titles. So after some tutorials, I made my very first mod: More Social Interactions!

I'm workshopping a way to make this mod standalone so it doesn't have to rely on the TTAB function. But I don't know when that will be.

Author of the mod discovered that memory-usage-related pink soup is a result of an intentional safety check in the game's code, rather than a mistake in calculating texture memory.
So his experimental mod for TS2 RPC launcher basically tells the game to stop freaking out and turning stuff pink when shaders' memory usage goes over certain threshold. NOTE: it may get rid of the pink, but the game will still crash if you exceed 4GB limit.
There are two mod options to choose from:
Version 1 is more radical, it completely removes the safety check. You'll (probably) find out the shader's memory limit has been exceeded when your game crashes.
Version 2 is supposed to allow some pink soup at around 3.5 GB memory usage, near the danger zone, so you have time to act - so obviously, this one sounds more sensible.
And while I remain convinced that pink soup can occur because of other shader-related issues or f*cked-up memory settings, not just this "failsafe", if your game suffers from pink soup it's definitely worth a try!

I've always hated how the camera jumps up and down when playing tall and slim buildings. Turns out, it's really easy to fix! It’ll take you less than a minute. All the details under the cut.
All it takes is opening the LiveCamera.txt file in your Documents>Cameras folder with a text editor and changing these two parameters near the bottom to a higher value. Doesn’t matter if you're using a custom camera mod or not. Those parameters should be there. I have set mine like this (remember to save a backup just in case you don't like these changes).
It might seem a bit extreme, but I still think it’s fine.
-The top parameter, floorheightsamplerange, handles how much the floors “extend out”, so the camera object can stand on it mid-air. The higher it is, the further the floor will extend. This will make it so your camera will be able to stick to the floor you’re on, even if you pan away from the building. No more annoying jumps up and down!
-The parameter below that, floorheightsampleinnerrange, handles the transition between sticking to the current floor and dropping to the ground level once it goes past the edge. The higher it is, the smoothest the fall will be.
I’ll note though that the behaviour of these parameters might not be 100% accurate with how the game actually works, but from what I tested I think it’s pretty close as an explanation. If someone knows better how this Live Camera works, please let me know and I’ll try my best to correct any inaccuracies.
Save the .txt file and check how it works in game. It might feel weird at first, but personally I find it so much smoother and easier to handle. If you’re not happy with these values, close the game and edit those parameters until you find your sweet spot. Unfortunately, you will have to close and open the game every time you change it to check how it works.
There’s so many cool Custom Camera mods out there that I thought it’s probably better to just show how to edit those 2 parameters than editing and reuploading all of them.
So yeah, that’s it. Now you can play those tall lots without getting a headache. Go ahead and send your college simmies to that hideous Sim State Tower with a hot tub on top of it. Now you’ll be able to see what’s going on up there.
A while ago, @fwaysims made a cool mod to integrate ROS (Random Occurence Scenario) rolling into the game.
Many of you may know that I personally LOVE a good ROS roll for stirring the pot and shaking up the gameplay, but I wanted more control over the ROS generation. So, I have taken this concept an revamped it!
Behold, a super innocent looking garden plant! ... Which has the potential to kill your sims 😈 (if you decide to lol)

So, the ROS by default will roll every day, but under the "options" menu, you can change this:
You can have the ROS roll on the first day of each new season, every day (with configurable % chances), or if you disable both of these options, a new menu appears allowing you to set specific days of the week for the ROS to roll:
In my gameplay I roll the ROS on Tuesdays and Fridays, so in my game the settings look like this:
The ROS should roll at around 8am (configurable) on whatever days you choose, and give you a popup with the outcome:
Which you can choose to accept or re-roll.
The ROS comes pre-loaded with 100 different outcomes from my personal ROS, but this is all changeable within SimPE. Some outcomes require extra dice rolls or coin flips, some require specific mods, some will have instructions to re-roll if the result doesn't apply to your family, but ultimately it is UP TO YOU if you choose to engage with the ROS or not.
Nothing actually happens after the ROS, it's just a text notification giving you some fun gameplay opportunities 😊
In SimPE, you can configure many parts of the ROS:
The BCON titled "ROS Generator Options" allows you to:
Edit the % chance a ROS will generate (set to 100% by default)
Change the "roll hour" from 8am to something else of your choosing (in 24 hour format), and
Change how many possible ROS results there are. This ties into the next part of configurability:
The ROS outcomes themselves!
In Text Lists, Dialogue Strings, you will find all of the possible ROS outcomes. You are free to edit this to your liking, just dont change the first 3 lines as the dialogues depend on these.
To edit the lines, just click on any one and change what's in the "String" box.
If you do choose to change the outcomes, you'll want to keep note of how many possible outcomes you have (this can be as few or as many as you like), and then go back into the BCON and change line 3 to reflect your number of outcomes, minus 1. This is important for code purposes.
e.g. the default 100 outcomes has a 99 entered in the "Dec" box.
I made this mod because I was sick of forgetting to roll the ROS, and because I like having in-game ways to do things, check information, etc. Now I no longer have to exit the game, get my Google Doc up, and roll manually - it can all be done in game! Yay!
And of course you can turn it off for a while if you like, or just manually use the "Roll the ROS" interaction to roll it whenever you like!
(This was important to include for all the times my Twitch chat redeem extra ROS rolls, lol).
But wait, there's more!

Which often rely on objects from @sunmoon-starfactory mods, because, of course they do. I repo'd the object to Raynuss's Kitchen Fireplace Pots, because if a ROS is good for anything, its good for stirring the pot... *ba dum tss*
