An Idiot I threw together in VRchat with a customizable Iterator avatar and then made (too much) lore of on the fly. *ahem*
This is Many Drills, Digging Deep (I'll just call them Drills, and they go by They/Them) They are one of the very first Iterators built, and thus they are somewhat limited. Their superstructure is *very* Industrial, and built on top of one of the primary Void Fluid drilling sites and refineries, and their approach to finding a means of Global Ascension is primarily through study of Void Fluid and how to possibly improve it/make it more potent. As they were built atop the Pathos VF Complex, their other main goal is the upkeep of the Void Fluid wells and refinery complex. To that end they were given a decently sized fleet of maintenance drones, and the means to produce more, if needed. In all reality this meant that they were one of the few Iterators capable of maintaining themselves actively (because the Ancients were bastards that way). And another layer of tragedy, the maintenance drones Drills makes? They are hardcoded to only able to work on their superstructure and the VF infrastructure, because they Ancients' logic was "how can It focus on Iterating, if It had to focus of maintaining the refinery and running maintenance on the other Iterators?" Drills hates being called It/It's because of how their inhabitants treated them. The Ancients treated them more like a simple machine then a sentient being, mostly because most of their inhabitants were fired from the Pathos complex after Drill's finished construction and automated everything, and were then forced to live on the back of the very thing that had put them out of a job.. Back on topic though, this leads to the situation of most of the Iterators in their local group ending up becoming more and more dilapidated overtime, the only thing being fixed was their VF systems while Drill's Superstructure was spotless. This leads to Drills spiraling midway through the timeline, thinking that everyone else must hate them, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Most of the other Iterators in their Local Group don't have any ill will towards them. they understand that Drills didn't choose this, if they could the would fix everyone, but they can't. Like, two are upset, but every time they try to be mean to Drills they get shot down by most of their local group.
AN ADDIATION I THOUGHT ABOUT AS I WAS GOING TO SLEEP
Their can kinda looks like a oil rig, only scaled up like, 100x with a city slapdashedly mounted on top. Cranes and scaffolding *everywhere*. they were built right as the Ancients were starting to master Anti-gravity tech, and thus it is used *very* sparingly, and only really in the areas it was *needed* so there are a TON of catwalks, ladders, etc. Most of their interior resemble the "behind the scenes" areas from portal 2, huge processing and calculation chambers mounted on rails, with pipes, carrying water, Void Fluid, Etc. everywhere, pneumatic tubes to transport Neuron flies, maintenance drones and purposed organisms where they need to go, and catwalks connecting everything. All either painted safety yellow or unpainted.
