2/5 he may have been joking but it really scared me. Then he's super negative about mental illness which I have and he actually has but he got extremely angry when I even mentioned getting my little sister tested for ADHD. And I'm terrified to tell him about my MI. And I'm not a Christian anymore but he doesn't know that and I mentioned a view I had on the bible that he didn't agree with and he got so mad I thought he was going to crash the car and we were all going to die. 3/5 I'm constantly terrified I'm going to mess up and say something that ticks him off. When I did call him out on something sexist, he got really mad then for the next few weeks he sort of half made fun of me asking "Oh was that sexist too?" And it made me feel terrible. And I just really don't know what to do, especially because of most of this stuff doesn't happen on a regular basis (except maybe the homophobia) and he's calm and 4/5 "supportive" the rest of the time and he actually seems upset when he hurts my feelings, so long as I wasn't disagreeing with him. I don't really know what to do, especially because my mental health has been degrading and I really need help, but I'm super scared to ask for it, especially because I don't want to be sent to a christian for help. 5/5 I'm really overwhelmed by the whole situation and don't know what to do. And I'm really super sorry this ended up so long and thank you in advance for your help. (And I should mention I have nothing against Christian Counselors, therapists, etc. but due to my own beliefs it wouldn't go well at all. In fact I'm pretty sure I know who they would send me to and it would make everything worse)

Hi...I’m sorry that this is something you have to experience and live through, it’s tough, I know. Unfortunately, you can’t choose your family (or the faceless persons who secretly live in your home). It seems that, at this point, it’s better to keep quiet about your issues, or maybe talk to your mother? Another option is of course, going to a doctor yourself. If you’re over 16, the doctor can’t legally tell your parents due to patient confidentiality laws, unless there is a reason to suspect you’re in serious danger.In the meantime, or if a doctor isn’t a viable option, there is other support available. You can call the Samaritans (UK): http://www.samaritans.org/, or http://www.crisiscallcenter.org/crisisservices.html where you can call for any crisis happening to you (US), or other services local to you. A quick Google search will give you a handful of results for your local area. There are plenty of help centers.Please, listener, try to remain strong. We have faith in you.

Hi there listener. It’s important in situations like these to keep a cool head. It’s likely that your parents just didn’t want to scare or disorientate you.  I understand that you may find it hard to trust them now, but there is always a possibility that you can just sit down and talk to them.The likelihood is that your parents will understand how you feel; they would feel the same. It’s good to be open about your feelings, listener, especially when something like this has taken place. Try talking to them, calmly, and see if they can offer you anything else. 

Hey. Psychological games, while interesting, are often dangerous. However, I don’t know what kind of game you played, what exactly you did, so I can’t really help. However, it’s highly likely you’ve just...freaked yourself out, for lack of better phrasing. It’s like the placebo effect, where you’re convinced you’ve done something to mess your head up, and now it is messing your head up. Please, if you feel you can, come forward and tell me what kind of game you played, what kind of things you did, so I can work with you, and help you reverse the effects your brain has given you. 

Hi listener. It’s really important to know that you are real, everything around you is real. I’m real, I don’t know you, I’m not doing anything to further your story. Feeling like a plot device is not healthy. You are you, not an element in someone else’s story, and vice versa. Listener, these mindsets are increasingly worrying, and I honestly suggest you speak to someone about depersonalisation disorder. It’s more common that you’d think. Help is out there. You can feel real again, everything around you can feel real again. Take a deep breath. Take hold of something, and look at it. Squeeze it (preferably not if you picked up a puppy), feel it, register that it is very real. Talk to someone. 

Hi there, I can’t diagnose you, but you’ve gotta see that something’s wrong here. This is something that needs to be seen to by a professional. Nightmares can be controlled with various forms of cognitive therapy and observation. However, I know this kind of treatment isn’t for everyone. There’s not a lot you can do for yourself, aside from really talking it out with someone you trust. These things stay on your mind and that’s not good, as I’m sure you know. I recommend working out these issues with a trustee, be it a friend, a family member, a doctor, whoever. It’s good to talk.

Even though asexual and grey romantic are both scientifically accurate identities, if you are scared of someone not supporting you, it is better to wait. Even if you never tell your mother at all, that’s fine. I hope you find people who respect and accept your orientation.

I’m sure your friend will be fine and it’s nothing to worry about, but, it might be a good idea to talk to him seriously, ask if he’s okay, make sure that he’s not lying to you. Just make sure he knows he can always talk to you if he does have a problem. It might also be wise to keep an eye on him, watch for changing behaviours. Try to talk to him in real life, too. It’s harder to hide that way.Best of luck, listener. Keep us updated, okay?
