When people say “you seem so happy all the time” they don’t realize how much work it took to get me here. The struggle the sacrifice.

College is hard. I know. You’ve heard that before. But you always think it’s the classes or being away from home. Don’t get me wrong, those are hard too. But what you don’t prepare for is waiting for 2 hours for your clothes to dry. Keeping track of the millions of things to do. Making phone calls on your own. They don’t tell you about feeling like you’re possibly not going to make it. They don’t tell you about wondering whether you can make it from one class to the next. They don’t tell you about doing school from 8am-7:45pm. College is hard.

He knows what he’s missing and so do I. That’s the hard part. We want each other, but need different things.
