i just realized that on the blonde squad beck casts jade as the dumb girl and maybe that was cause he knew casting cat would end up coming off as pretty mean

yess and i used to think that was the only reason, yk, to maybe irritate her, but i had just watched it again and when she asks “how come i’m the dumb one” and he goes “shhh” she doesn’t seem to rly mind it much and he doesn’t seem to want her to. and i thought to myself “well i definitely wouldnt cast cat as the dumb one either” cause like maybe she wouldn’t get the joke and her performance might be affected by that + it would seem like the audience was supposed to be laughing directly at her, and that’s just mean, so, well. now i headcanon that beck thought of all of that lol
