MAEVE LOVED GETTING HER WAY . their argument , as dumb as it was , was giving her a whole world of entertainment . & now , as she stood next to cato , she elbows his arm slightly , more than excited to prove him right . ‘ can’t wait to hear you admit that i’m right , ’ she chuckles , accepting the cup with glee & being careful not to trip over her own feet as she makes her way to the table . luckily , the coffee makes it there without any spillage . ‘ everything’s going well for once … got my own company , found a good guy finally , & best of all , i have my friend surrendering & trying vanilla . ’ brows raise as she goes to take a sip of coffee , making sure to exaggerate on how good it was . ‘ how’s everything with you ? ’
‘‘-- LISTEN, I’M never wrong about these things. i’m humoring you, i figured i’d try it just to see how it is.’‘ for a moment he looks completely serious, but his lips start to curl up as his nose scrunches slightly. he’s finally made himself comfortable in his seat, fingers drumming along the side of the cup as he listens to her. the smile doesn’t leave his face, eyes rolling playfully. ‘damn, maeve. super proud of you, you’re gonna kill it with your company. i don’t know if you can run in heels, but i’m imagining it now-- and you’re probably gonna be some badass business owner. ‘YEAH? make sure this guy knows, I’M A COP.’‘ so he looks down at the cup for a moment, lips pursed before he finally brings it up to take a sip. once he sets the cup down, a hand runs along his face in thought before he lowers his head. ‘‘-- you were right. but listen, everything is doing swell with me. back from assignment, trying to enjoy everything.. all that fun stuff.’‘
