DICK GRAYSON grew up in a circus in a family of acrobats that would become known as the flying grayson. One night, as they were doing their routine, his parents died ( murdered ? or accident ? ) which led him to become an orphan. He was saved by Batman whose alter-ego Bruce Wayne was present during the show, when corrupted police officers threw him in their car. At first, Dick didn’t like the man and didn’t want anything to do with him. He was rude. And far from being a good candidat for parenting, and yet... He ended up living at the Wayne Manor.

He was still a child when he became Robin, Batman’s first sidekick. He was good at what he was doing, helping the dark knight to the best of his abilities. They were inseparable. Wherever Batman was, Dick wasn’t too far away. And vice-versa. As years passed, Robin was given a team of his own. Then TEEN TITANS. He stayed with them for a long while. As he reached a certain age, his view on things started to change and thoughts of freedom and independance started flooding his mind. He didn’t want to be just a sidekick anymore ( plus, the fact that Batman fired him after an other mission gone wrong wasn’t helping ) and... He became someone else. NIGHTWING. Leaving Gotham under Batman’s protection, he moved to Blüdhaven while also landing an helping hand whenever he was needed.

When Bruce disappeared ( with some thinking that he died ), Dick took it upon himself to take on the mantle of the Batman until his father figure return. At some point in time, Dick faked his own death under Wayne’s command to protect his own life and went away... Taking on an other identity. AGENT SPYRAL. He stayed with them until all that needed to be done was settled... And then he came back, taking back the costume he left behind. ( Sure, he had loads of explaining to do and had to promise not to fake his own death again. )
