Oh God She Made A Blog For This

This blog was created to share my fics and stuff related to my fics, but a bit about myself first!

You can call me Catch! I’m 22 and studying 2D Animation. I love wrestling and writing so why not combine the two and start a new hobby?

I watch both WWE and AEW, but so far I’ve only written for AEW; specifically Hook.

Need you all to see the goofy ass Shin Godzilla plushie my friend got me from Japan.

Anyways, I finally started reading the Skybound Transformers comics and yeah I knew p much everything I needed to know going in, I wasn't surprised about anything in these first few issues but.

Hey everyone, so just gonna lay this all out; since around April I started to fall out from wrestling as an interest significantly. This also however coincided with me crunching through my grad film and having that be my main concern so I assumed once I was done with school I would return to watching like usual. But I didn’t, I watched All In and really enjoyed it and despite going and watching Dynamite the following week I then once again fell behind to the point I completely forgot Forbidden Door was even happening. Rest assured, I still love wrestling, I’m just in a weird state of not watching it even though there’s nothing else I’m really occupying myself with. Maybe it’s burnout and I’ll return to it eventually.

Which brings me to my next point: my writing.

I graduated for animation, and storytelling has always been a passion of mine, it’s why I fell in love with wrestling in the first place. Fic writing soon became a way to not burn out on art and animation by having a new hobby. And I had so much fun! If you were to ask my friends how much I’d talk about Purest Hell you would be able to tell how much I loved writing fics. Summer 2024 was the big time for me and my fics, after that my final year of university began and I had to focus on my degree. And, much like watching wrestling itself, I thought my passion for writing would return to me during this summer, but it didn’t.

Between job applications, fixing portfolios, applying for a work visa, traveling home for a wedding, and work, I just wasn’t feeling the inspiration, not even for other fandoms like Transformers. I’m a planner; I don’t like jumping into a fic without at least a bullet list of plot points and I just haven’t felt a spark to do anything fic related since October when I last posted.

And then there’s this blog; the writing blog that isn’t even a side blog to my main but it’s own unique thing. Idk why I did this, I think cause you can’t send asks through side blogs and my main is a mess so I thought this would be better. But all that’s happened is neglecting the community and mutuals I’ve met here. To be entirely honest, I don’t even post a lot to Tumblr, and I’m just recently posting more art on my art blog. But I do wanna engage with this community again, it’s pretty much a fact I’m taking a break from wrestling, so who cares what spoilers for the show I see (part of the reason I also wasn’t active here all these months)

That being said, I hope seeing this on your dash at least made you all go “oh yeah, her”.

Since getting into wrestling I like to pay attention to how it's portrayed in TV shows. Wrestling centered episodes are so common in cartoons and sitcoms but once you actually get into wrestling you start to pay attention to how accurate the portrayals are. And I try not to get too "um actually..." About these when I watch em cause whatever, most of them are in animated shows that are gonna exaggerate a lot of things anyways because animation.

BUT THEN IN COMES THE 2017 DUCKTALES REBOOT WITH THE MOST ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF WRESTLING I'VE SEEN IN A CARTOON.

Wow it's been a minute. So. Life update;

Filmmaking is hell. This film is due on Tuesday; I am spending hours upon hours sitting at my computer to finish this damn film so I can graduate. So needless to say I haven't been writing much.

On the other hand there was a long period of time at the start of the year where I just wasn't watching wrestling, but kept telling myself I'd catch up so I didn't even engage w the community at all.

Now I'm back to regularly watching but film grind is very much still my number one priority.

Other news; yes! I am graduating!!! A lot of life changes will follow after including applying for a work visa but I just want to finish this film man. I also have... so many Transformers figures now it's not even funny. But I've managed to find some major Holy Grails of mine for the collection. I have tons of fun summer plans, I'm excited about the future even if I'm also scared shitless.

Idk how much of those Summer plans will include fanfiction. Fanfic for me has been a hobby to not burnout from art. Art and animation will forever be my number one but after the past year Idk how much art I'll want to draw for at least a month. Or maybe I'll go crazy and draw more than ever. Maybe I'll write more of my AEW AUs. Or finish my Transformers fic draft! I don't know. All I know is I can see the finish line but I'm just not ready to celebrate just yet.
