what i find additionally insane is that much of what hanyoung does here is motivated by sinjin killing him in a future that hasn’t happened yet, in a life that sinjin hasn’t lived yet. of course hanyoung was watching all the depravity unfold in real time and recontextualizing what happens to him ten years later, but what has driven him to sink sinjin’s empire is that death. and in his past life, he has never known sinjin the way he does now, has never had as many touching points, never gained that trust; sinjin needed hanyoung gone because it was just another piece on his board. it was not personal. but now, sinjin is not only answering for the crimes he has committed but for a crime he is unaware of, a crime that is not part of his body (yet), and the difference is that he knows hanyoung so everything hanyoung has done to him, all these small betrayals and the big fallout, they happen to sinjin on a far greater personal scale and that is why it hurts and why it cannot be a clean cut, no, it has to be bloody hands and scrambling on the floor and petty lies and pure depravity. it’s not standing in an alley and watching hanyoung bleed out with detached resentment, it’s dragging everyone down with him.
