yayyy happi first day of summer!! you know what month it is

ok so! this ask gave me motivation to actually try and create new sideblog (i had one before, but maybe because it was connected to the app where this main is it got shadowed too idfk how this thing works), so i did it and it... somehow... worked?

@catboydave14 – im not sure if im gonna post anything there, probably not, but ill use it as a messenger as for now :D and ill try again to send another cry for help to the tumblr team. but rn it feels like talking to a wall if im being honest and its not looking promising ...

and as for alternatives if it happens again (even with the blog on what i dont even post anything who knwos), i have only telegram (i go by @ johncest there)

The good news: shadowbanning isn't a thing on Tumblr. So you didn't do anything wrong.

The bad news: shadowbanning-like effects can sometimes happen just as a result of this website being built poorly. The search engine is especially bad here, so I'm not so surprised that anon found issues using that.

Hopefully it fixes itself. I suppose contacting support couldn't hurt, but given that these sorts of issues weren't done on purpose...

But at least you can rest easy knowing that shadowbanning isn't a thing on Tumblr

i wrote them just in case. even if the problem does not solve itself (or they dont do anything) i will still continue to post here, just with a pinch of bitterness every time i upload something

during this time i learned that some of my friends and acquaintances had exactly the same situation, and even recreating the blog did not change anything (for convenience sake i will still call it a shadow ban because well. the only difference between it and this bug is that it was done accidentally and not intentionally, which makes the situation comical. congratulations in winning this ban lottery)

the person just lost access to one of the important parts of the blog with the help of which you could gain audience... im relatively lucky as i already have followers and reblogs they do help promote post-ban posts, but if you're just starting out and tags get turned off right away, thats literally the end right at the start (unless youre already famous somewhere else. which i wasnt so imagine my surprise if ive got this funny little problem after first post. i would think users just dont like my stuff and i would stop trying to use tumblr right away, even though its not my bad at all)

theyve been having this problem for years, its not an isolated case at all, support often ignores and doesn't solve the problem. and it happens unpredictably, and very unnoticeably, because again, if it wasn't for anon i probably would never have realized that this is even possible and i might have it
