If you suffer from depression …
1. Instead of attacking yourself for how you feel, and demanding that you change, and improve who you are, be compassionate and caring and kind towards yourself.
2. Remind yourself this struggle is NOT something you chose. It’s something that’s unwanted, and is hard to fight against.
3. Don’t look to other people to help, and bolster, you. They also have their struggles, so their help is limited.
4. Our feelings are affected by lots of different things – and that affects our thinking – so our thinking’s often wrong.
5. Feelings often happen for no reason or cause. So try to just be patient, and maybe they will change.
6. Remember you have worth, and you’re truly valuable. Don’t listen to your feelings. They often tell you lies.
7. Do something that distracts you, like work or exercise. But always take it easy when you are feeling down.

The funny thing about other people is, they are often just as insecure, sad and lonely as you are… Sometimes all it takes is a smile or a hello. Let others know they exist and they matter :))
This can be a considerably difficult thing to do, especially if you truly care about the person. But at the end of the day, relationships take commitment from both parties. If they aren’t adding to you and your happiness, let go.

I started the 100 Days of Productivity Challenge and felt like I wasn’t making any progress and got really frustrated, so I decided to set some specific goals and stick to them for a whole month. We will see what happens.

August Spread
I’m really looking forward to the last month of true summer! I fly to London on August 31 and begin my study abroad program so there is a lot to prepare for but also a lot to enjoy until then. Anticipation is part of the journey! Here’s to fresh strawberries, Hong Kong style boba, warm nights, binge watching Star Wars, and finishing the books that have been waiting for me to come back to them all year long. 🍓
Could I just say something real quick?
It’s all coming. Whatever you’re starving for, whatever that ache is that stings your bones, it’s coming. The love, the happiness, the adventures, and the creativity that you are seeking, it is all coming for you. Here’s the thing, don’t let your right now get away. The things you find mundane, keep them. Store them in the pocket of your favorite coat like found pennies. They aren’t futile. Do not let them cause you to feel empty and hollow. They are going to be worthwhile. Keep the hunger for what is coming, but please, keep a tight grip on these little ordinary moments that are happening right now, because they – these tiny pieces of this ordinary affair you find yourself in – are the foundation to your extraordinary. And I promise you, if you begin to recognize your right now, you’ll see your extraordinary coming.
it’s never too late to start again. 5pm on a thursday can be your new monday. you don’t have to wait until the new year to better yourself. time is an illusion, don’t forget that. just because you woke up at 1pm, it doesn’t mean you messed your whole day up and that you can’t turn the mood around. it’s never too late to start again!!!!!
