I know misogyny is alive and well because why is it that Mei Mei, a character with very few redeeming qualities, has appeared in almost no fanart/is pretty much never then main focus when she is there after it was revealed that she groomed her child brother. Whereas Mr Naoya zenin, a character with not a SINGLE redeeming quality, can tell maki mid fight in very certain/not vauge terms that he did much worse sexually to Mai then we ever even see Mei Mei do to her poor brother (even if it was implied), not to mention Mai is his cousin (or maybe his niece I forget exactly which zenin generation but he was an adult/maybe late teen? At the time) and she would have been a middle schooler MAX. Yet this guy haunts jjk fanart tags, like he isn’t there often but just enough that he’s noticeable. Man they literally did the same thing idk. I would bring up how highly he continuously was placed in Japanese popularity polls but I dont remember where Mei Mei is on those tbh.
