Dancing Hymns On My Tongue Like They’re A Prayer.

PoC angels, disabled angels, mentally ill angels, gay angels, trans angels, religious angels, atheist angels, plural angels, chubby angels, skinny angels.

We know it’s a bit of a drag dealing with these squishy, high-maintenance vessels. Eating? Sleeping? Showering? Yes, it’s all very mortal and inconvenient. But hey, this is your ride, and no one likes a broken-down car. Show some respect to your vessel—it’s literally carrying you around the mortal plane.

Here’s your “Vessel Maintenance Checklist”:

Fuel it properly! Eat some actual food—yes pizza rolls count but throw in a vegetable or two occasionally.

Hydrate. Your body right now is mostly made up of water. You need to replenish your reserves once in a while.

Sleep! At least 6-9 hours. Powering through is not a long-term solution, my friend.

Showering and grooming. A clean vessel is a happy vessel. Your mortal friends will thank you.

Stretch and move. A little walk won’t kill you!

Angels that bedrot and doomscroll

Angels who can be mean, who can be rude, who ignore or ghost

Angels who dont shower for days, who sweat and whose teeth are yellow and crooked

Angels with ache scars and acne on their backs and scars on their arms and hair on their legs

Angels with blood shot eyes in the morning and eye bags from being insomniac and sleep deprived

Angels who hold grudges, who throw tantrums and scream and yell

Angels who are petty and passive agressive and snide

Angels who have hurt people and the ones they love and who have been hurt too

Angels with low to zero empathy and angels who experience compassion fatique

Angels with violent urges and tendancies and thoughts

Angels who hate and want to punch a wall or throw a table

Angels who feel chronically empty, angels who feel tired all the time

Angels who are mortal, angels who reject divinity and embrace their mortality

Angels with no halos and wings, angels with no purpose or job

Angels who choose to be divine, who do not have memories

Angels who are lost and confused, angels who are unemployed and arent studying

Angels who try their best and it still isnt good enough, angels who dont try at all

You are still angels, you are still angelic. Define your own angelhood, define your own angelic nature and understand that being angelic is not one dimensional but is expereinced in all its multifaceted complexity. You are an ecosystem of your own making, contridictory and etheral.

You are angelic as you already are.

List of things you’ll need:

Foam sheet/cardboard -> for the base

feathers (i used these :

Scissors

Glue (i used hot glue)

A headband

STEP 1:

Cut out the base (i recommend using a real wing as a reference. The height of the base of the wing should be a bit bigger than the height of your ear.

i labelled them left and right, but it’s pretty useless to do that.

STEP 2:

I painted the base white because the feathers aren’t opaque, and we could see the purple of the base.

STEP 3:

It’s time to glue the long feathers on! Make sure to position them before gluing, to make sure they look ok. Make sure to to follow those handy guide!

STEP 4:

Position the second (round) layer of feathers! I fold over any feather that went over the base on the top, to keep it looking clean.

STEP 5:

Now is the time to add the fluffy feathers if you want to!

STEP 6:

Time for the back! You can either leave it white or put feathers on the back too.

STEP 7:

Almost done! It’s time to attach them to the headband. If the one you have is made of plastic and is smooth, you should wrap some thread around it and glue it to the headband before the wings, so that the wings won’t detach

This is the pink thread i used, it’s embroidery thread. I used about the length of my arm for each side, and i then lathered it in hot glue. Not super clean, but it works.

MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY THE PLACEMENT OF THE WINGS BEFORE GLUING THEM SO THEY’RE NOT WONKY!!!!

Next, the actual attaching. You can glue the ears directly onto the headband.

STEP 8:

Wow! Your wings are done! Good job :3
