La Maza es un proyecto documental que busca entender el proceso al que se enfrentan los migrantes Venezolanos en Lima. El retrato es una excusa para acercarse, Los testimonios ponen voz a sus rostros. ¿Pero que traen en la maleta? Los objetos cuentan aún más cosas que el mismo testimonio. En ellos se percibe la violencia, la ausencia de la familia, el desarraigo. Son metáfora de una lucha interna. Fusionan la nostalgia del pasado y la voluntad de seguir después de haber dejado sus raíces incluso de forma forzada. Son un reflejo de nuestra convulsa sociedad en donde nos podríamos reconocer sin importar nuestro origen.

The Mallet is a documentary project that seeks to understand the process faced in Lima by immigrants from Venezuela. Portraits are a pretext to get close. The testimonies give voice to the faces, but, ¿what do they bring in their suitcases? The objects tell even more stories than the testimonies.They reveal the violence, the absence of family, the uprooting. They are a metaphor for an inner struggle, they fuse nostalgia for the past and the will to go on, having left their roots behind, having been forced to, even. They are a reflection of our convulsed society, in which we might be able to recognize one another disregarding origin.
