Cassia was born as the youngest of two girls who were the apple of their parents eye. Despite growing up wanting to be everything that her sister was, Cassia felt like she continuously had to actively strive to try to match her sister charm and social ease. Neither came easily to her like her older sister who could charm a crowd or easily become the foundation of a group of friends. Outside of being seen as the youngest sister, she was often more reserved or awkward outside of the close knit group she clung to while growing up.
Her older sister was the heart of their home— the first to remember birthday's and always prepared to plan a party or cook a meal to celebrate. Cass wanted nothing more than to grow up and be like her. She strived to be more thoughtful, kind and genuine. Despite the small gap between them, she was never made to feel as if her opinion mattered less and they felt more like best friends than sisters.
Her sister would often be the first and last text of the day, even more as the news of her sister's pregnancy came to light.
The news of her being an aunt only amplified her already fulfilled and happy life after meeting Sebastian. The moment she'd met him, she knew that he would be the man she would spend the rest of her life with. It all clicked into place and while her sister had always felt like her soulmate, he was her other half.
But everything shattered when the news of her sister's accident and imminent death reached her. She became a shell of herself; unable to function with the crushing grief of her sister and future niece's passing. She couldn't eat, get out of bed, and eventually, things like work and school fell to the wayside. It didn't take long before she was fired from work and uninrolled from school.
The final nail in her coffin came with an abrupt end of her engagement with Sebastian after a fight. She felt unable to deal with trying to share any emotion or ties after feeling like she'd lost herself in ways she couldn't even begin to comprehend. Her departure was prompt, leaving to travel and drown her sorrow in whatever she could. It started with alcohol, drugs, nights with people she can barely remember until she found a stable middle. She's often out partying, keeping busy to ignore the grief that still hangs over her, but no longer drinking to a blackout state.
CONNECTIONS —
CHILDHOOD BEST FRIENDS: I can see her having a group of close friends throughout high school who used to party a lot and rent out cabins in the summer and just do some fun bondfires, things like that.
OLD FRIENDS: these would be people that she fell out of contact with when she left town or maybe old classmates when she was in college.
BAD INFLUENCE: she's kind of turned to the dark side ( aka she is doing things she wouldn't normally do ) but someone kind of pulled that out of her, maybe encouraged her to go down that route and she never looked back.
EXES/FLINGS: this wouldn't actually be a serious relationship unless it was one in high school. it could have been something that lasted like a month and she just calls it an ex because it isn't a fling persay but it's probably just that.
HOOK UPS / TINDER DATE: I love the idea of things ending badly or dates going wrong and then forcing them to interact and it be awkward or horrible so i’d love a lot of these
NEIGHBOURS: people that live next to her and bonus if they don’t like each other over some stupid reason. maybe one of them had a loud party and the other made a complaint
COWORKERS: since she's a bartender, she has to deal with a lot of interesting characters so it could be fun to have a sort of friendship where they look otu for each other and have one anothers back.
