Always thought it was a case of kill count instead of proficiency

J specifically says “am I dreaming or did you do something not useless for once?” When N actually managed to get into the bunker so it seems more like she just likes insulting N more than anything. J is a great character but as a person she’s awful, for what ever reason she’s always hated N as shown by the flashback in episode 2 but back then she was his peer and Tessa did seem to stand by N, given how J immediately pretended like she didn’t just kick N in the head when Tessa showed up, but now J is the boss and V won’t stand up for N. Again J is a great character, and she has her reasons for how she acts but we probably shouldn’t take her word for how N actually acted given her, biases.

Yeah people have forgotten the concept of a side character and that not every character will have everything explicitly stated and just implied, hell Avatar has 61 episodes and it still has characters that only have implied lore. Characters are story telling tools, not actual people, J's purpose in the story is to be a counter to N and V, mainly V, someone that chose to side with someone that she knew was bad and was not willing to take a risk to better her life instead choosing the "safer" option which made her miserable.

This is so good, the art is amazing. I definitely feel like Scratch's abstraction was Caine trying to help Scratch, whether it was getting rid of the tumor, if that got transferred over in the brain scan, or making him happy.
