Romantic relationships should be,, in my opinion, more cooperating than anything. This is why even kyman gets to be on the kenmans quadrant if we take them as a married couple.

Buttmans are uhh weird cuz. They're very cartoonish in nature, so they go from an extreme to an extreme. Subtlety is achieved not by making them less cartoonish, but by introducing complicated or extremely specific dynamics. Buttman can be a stanman only when in a very unhealthy dynamic. Which yeah the og dynamic is not NOT toxic i know. But i think theres a difference between having an asshole for a friend who you take innocent asian people as hostages with. And a complicated kinda friendship with a guy you literally would die for and then kill him as well bc you don't wanna be lonely in hell.

The reason why toxic codependency is opposing is bc it presumes that the dynamic is dysfunction. It means there's a struggle. A subtle one. Eh, eh?

Absolute synergy is a twin that is completely opposite. You die he dies, you both understand each other with zero communication. And you take hostages successfully. It feels cartoonish but in reality is very very complicated with zero zest and comedy.

Kymans are also complicated, but, in my opinion, in a very ironic and almost comedic way. They are also cartoonish in nature, but unlike buttman they kinda stay in a certain dynamic?? Like, is it even kyman if it is not opposing or cartoonish at least a little bit? Thats why in other quadrants the kymans are closer to tge middle. The cursed centrists.

Kenman is flexible but to an extent. Most of the dynamic hinges on kenny's state of being in the dynamic. In the the racoon x mysterion kenny is kind of unleashing himself to an extent he usually doesn't let himself. It also means his opinions get more pronounced, which in turn tips the dynamic into the opposing territory. The stanman quadrant for kenmans is.. The Death of their relationship. I just don't think kenny would stick around if his disagreements with cartmans were uncartoonish. Kenny doesn't like having to oppose someone AS kenny on a regular. It doesn't feel faithful to his character. So kenny would either go back to the kenman quadrant or just stop talking to cartman altogether. And cartman... What can cartman do to a kenny that doesn't want to talk to him? If usual persuasions don't work i don't think active manipulation would work either so uh yeah...

Stanman. Haha well you might have noticed how buttman and kenman are... Struggling when they enter the stanman quadrant. I'm of the opinion that that is bc stanman is a very complicated quadrant by design. South park can't exist in a stanman dynamic for too long. Which is why Stan and cartman themselves don't stay in tge stanman quadrant in the original show!!!! Which is hilarious!!!!!!! THATS THEIR QUADRANT BUT BECAUSE THEIR DYNAMIC IS NEVER FULLY EXPLORED IN THE SHOW. THEY ARE RARELY IN THEIR OWN FUCKING QUADRANT. That is illustrated by the stanmans in tge buttman quadrant. If stan and cartman are not disagreeing then they are most likely cooperating to achieve something.

Now you might ask: but why stanman quadrant if tge most iconic examples of stan and cartmans dynamic cannot be accurately described by their own quadrant. ITS BECAUSE THEY EXIST IN THAT QUADRANT ALL TGE TIME BUT BEING IN THAT QUADRANT MEANS. SUBTLE. OPPOSITION. WHICH IS SUBTLE AND IS USUALLY A VERY READ BETWEEN THE LINES DEAL. Stan and cartman are basically the same person but cartmans fatter and meaner lmao. They can be very cynical or very naive about things. In the narrative of the show it's not unusual for stan to be somewhat exposed to cartmans worldview as a part of his own story arc only to pull back and then examine why he disagrees and why it's all bullshit. Or actually correct, which is rare or like that for comedy. To BE subtly opposing, stanmans Have to be more cartoonish or more cooperating, only Then to pull back into the stanman quadrant. But that is like that in the show, fanworks actually expore their subtle opposition dynamic quite nicely without having to jump quadrants first.

Stanman jumping quadrants is actually very fun. Begrudging understanding is, perhaps, tge most beautiful of those jumps. Bc stan gets to agree with cartman with no laughs, just, well, with the weird feeling that you are understood by a guy who made his dad into chilli and comes up with offensive jokes as a favourite past time. Cartman, despite popular headcanons, I'm sure is delighted by having stan agree with him. 'Eat that khal!! Even your boyfriend thinks I'm right!!!'

Stanman married au would stay in the stanman quadrant, unlike kyman married au, bc kyle is actually as rabid as cartman and likes having things done. Stan simply has to have someone opposing him i feel like, alongside someone who understands him. Stan feels apathetic to most things happening, and having someone who feels at least something about everything is a right way to not get completely cut off from the world. Stan must think, otherwise he drifts away really fast.

comic is about cartman's antisemitism being brought to question by cartman himself -- he tries to reason through kenny's reaction to the musical. if it's funny to kenny, meaning the message is not being taken in any way seriously, then, surely, why must cartman take it seriously? he'd be an idiot to worry about something that no one cares about.

but as you see here, kenny is not amused by cartman's train of thought. to kenny, the story was to be taken seriously. and cartman's antisemitism is just. awful to be around, especially after being reminded of how serious the consequences of it are.

what does it mean for cartman? more reflection, if he's capable of it. change, hopefully.
