maybe delusional but a little emotional about the decision to have gabriella and lestat brutally murder their family without remorse. lestat and gabriella leaving their family to rot in the decaying castle - a representation of the prison it had become, a remnant of the pre-revolutionary past - and not killing them was so significant to the story. lestat brought his father overseas, even, refusing to kill him by his own hand because yes he despised the man but he was still his father. lestat is petty and at times cruel but he has an incredible depth of emotion. his vampirism did not strip him of this. please
