𝓈𝑜𝓃𝑔𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓇𝓈

Bouncing through the airlock, Umika looked around. “So where do we start?” she asked before starting down the hall. “This way I think?”

"Only if I can use part of it to buy some new clothes next week,” Umika snickered before bursting into a full blown giggle fit. “No I’m kidding, we don’t have to do that.”

“Got it!” Umika said, going to grab a coil of rope that was stashed nearby. Coming back, she quickly tied the intruder up and put him against the wall. “Okay, a word of advice from me?” she said as she straightened up. “Work on your fashion sense, it’s the absolute worst.” Then she glanced over at Cherie and raised an eyebrow like Now what?

“Oh this is just great,” Umika mumbled, tossing the magazine over her shoulder before scrambling to her feet and following. “Do you need to me to set anything else up?” she called after Cherie. “Or I could check the scanners..”

“I hope you’re right,” Umika piped up from where she was reading a fashion magazine from the Yamaneko System in her seat across the cockpit. “But you never know.”

“Who’s saying that?” Chiyoko asked, flopping down next to Yuki. 

“Missed you too,” Penelope murmured, lacing their fingers together with a small smile. “And I’m sorry for getting mad, I was just tired.” Long-term missions back on Ventara would do that to a girl apparently. 

“Same here..I think we need to just..get away for a little while.” He held her hands oh so gently as their fingers were interlaced.  “To my room, for starters? Then maybe we can plan a vacation that hopefully won’t turn into an adventure?”

“Aw but what if I wanted it to be?” Penelope teased with a giggle, leaning up to peck him on the lips before slipping past him and down the hall. 

Alain gave chase with a grin. “If it is your wish my lady I’m certain we can do it!”

Penelope snickered and slipped into their room, trying to hide in the closet before he could get there. 

Success! By the time he entered the room, she was nowhere to be found..and the door locked behind him.  “Hmm I wonder where you went..” He murmured aloud.

Penelope tried to push herself farther into the back corner of her side of the closet, pulling a couple of dresses over her head as she tried not to giggle. Of course she was fully expecting him to suspect she’d gone through the mirror next to the closet door, but who knew?

“Missed you too,” Penelope murmured, lacing their fingers together with a small smile. “And I’m sorry for getting mad, I was just tired.” Long-term missions back on Ventara would do that to a girl apparently.

Setting the book aside, she stood up and hugged him. “How’d things go today?”

“Fine same old same old.” He said after hugging back. “…Is everything alright?”

“Mostly,” she said, rubbing the back of her neck. “It’s just...I know those rumors about you and Vernage aren’t true, why am I letting myself get upset over it?”

“What?” she said with a small pout, tilting her head as her hand inched towards her Advent Deck on the table beside her. 

Then he kissed her on the lips, hoping to at least conclude whatever they were arguing about.  Those eyes were so wonderful..

Penelope blinked exactly three times before her eyes fluttered closed and she kissed him back, her arms loosely curling around his shoulders.
