There wasn't a way of explaining how they felt about each other. It was known but it wasn't. Kind of like a skinny love. They acted on their emotions which often lead to them almost kissing but when they got too close one of them would pull away, nervous. Some days Lorcan would hope she wouldn't pull away, that they'd finally get their first kiss but other days he was glad because it meant it gave him a chance to make it memorable.
"C'mon Carmen!" he grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs. She let out a slight squeal trying to keep up with him, "it's not my fault my legs are shorter than yours! stop taking these huge steps, Lor!" The stairwell was filled with his laughter. He had always loved the way she'd make fun of herself for being short, it was cute to him in a way. "Besides if I go any faster I'll trip."
They stopped and Lorcan stepped down a step and turned his back to her, "get on. I'll carry you." "But Lor-" "not buts. C'mon." She sighed then jumped onto his back, her arms wrapping around his neck loosely so she didn't choke him. There was silence the rest of the way up. Whenever around each other they never really had to talk, just each other's company was enough to make the day better. Lorcan opened the door to the roof and walked out. Carmen reached back and shut it behind them without him even asking her too.
He gently set her down on her feet then stood up straight. Lorcan moved over to a box that sat on a table. She blinked glancing around. There were many plants and a place that people had set up so they could sit up there. She stopped and stared at him with a confused look. "Why'd you bring me here?" "You remember a year ago, how we were dancing then it got interrupted? How I promised we'd do it again some other time?" Carmen blinked tilting her head. She thought back trying to remember but had no luck. "Well.." he pulled a radio from the box and set it down turning it on.Lorcan walked over to her and held out his hand, "may I have this dance?" A blush came over her and she took his hand in hers, nodding.
Lorcan pulled her in close, his other hand setting on her lower back. 'One, two, three. One, two, three.'Â She repeated in her head trying not to trip over her own feet. "Relax, don't think about it." "How did you-" "know about it? I know you, Carmen." He smiled as he gazed into her's. She tilted her head, her lips parting as if she were going to speak but she couldn't find her voice. She was often in shock with how easy it was for him to finish her sentences or even know what she was thinking.
"And I.. want to share all my love with you. No one else will do." he sang along with the male's part softly. Carmen smiled, her eyes never leaving his. "And your eyes. They tell me how much you care. Oh yes you will always be.. My endless love." A raindrop had landed on her cheek but she was completely oblivious to it until the rain started to pour down. The radio cut out but the duo didn't notice. "Carmen can I ask you something?" "You just did." Lorcan chuckled and shook his head. "No, this.. this is a serious question."
He moved closer to her, his hands resting on her waist. Carmen blinked and tilted her head, "what is it?" "When I go to kiss you.. why do you pull away?" "My brother once told me that ancient lovers believed a kiss would unite their souls because the spirit was said to be carried in one's breath." She leaned in, her hand coming up and messing with the hair on the back of his head.Â
The duo moved in closer, the gap between their lips slowly closing in. Thunder scared her from her trance and she looked up, her mouth agape. Carmen pulled away and ran to the door leading to the stairs as Lorcan had continued leaning in and kissed the air. He stood there for a moment staring at her with an unamused look then ran after her into the stairwell.

You smell of other people's blood, ma petite.. I smiled at him, sweetly. It was no one you knew.Â
Why are you here? || Danny
âI donât blame him.â He said softly, Danny then nodded. He kept his vision down then nodded, âParker I guess his name is. He was scared and worried, he said he couldnât find Roxanne and that Ryos was dead and that he couldnât find I-Ian.â He could barely choke out the name. âJared said he was. Iâm not sure thoughâŚâ He listened to her and then shook his head, âIâm not strong. Iâm not strong at all. I run away once something becomes too much. Thatâs weak, thatâs more than weak itâs fucking pathetic.âÂ
A part of him wanted to keep going but he stopped, he didnât want to tell her all he thought about himself right now. He didnât want to cry more, he didnât want to cry to the point where he couldnât breathe. He knew his siblings loved him, he didnât doubt it for a minute, and a part of him wished that was enough to make this all go away, but it wasnât that simple. If it were, heâd still be here in the wizard world.Â
He sat up straight and took a deep breathe, he shook his head, âI donât wanna cry anymore⌠I really donât. I donât want to think of it, but itâs hard when it keeps coming back. I didnât want to remember Zelena and know how easy it was for her to go to my cousin. I didnât want to remember Trixxie and how easy it was for her to cheat on me with Jay. I didnât want to remember L-Lily and all that crap I-I put her through⌠and I didnât want to butt into Jaredâs life anymore⌠maybe because of selfish reasons but who knows? Mostly everything I do is selfish. I didnât want to remember. I liked when I didnâtâŚâÂ
It was taking everything in her to keep calm. She had a blank expression but inside she was pissed and hurt. Carmen swallowed, nodding here and there. "So you run away when things get hard. If I were able to I would have done the same, hell I did but I only got in deep trouble and sometimes I wasn't able to. Danny, if you're running away from those you love, like Jared, it shows that you're strong enough to let go and move on and you have. You have Brayden and his sister and I'm sure you've made some friends out there. Amazing friends who wont be able to compare to any here." she shifted on the couch when he pulled away. A sigh escaped her and she looked down.
She was limited. She didn't know what it was like to forget those things and be reminded of them all, all at once. "Zelena comes over here every now and then. She asks about you, how you're doing and all. She misses you." Carmen looked at him from the corner of her eye. "Danny, you can't keep holding this all against yourself and hurting yourself over these things. Some are in the past and deserve to stay there. People change, things change and I'm sorry that all of this just hit you. I can't put myself in your shoes so I can't understand where you're coming from Danny."
Carmen leaned back against the couch and closed her eyes. "There's going to be times where the only thing you can do is run, run and never look back. But there's always, always going to be time for you to make things right between you and Zelena, Trixxie, Jay and Lily, even Jared. Because you owe it to them. Most importantly you owe it to yourself. It shouldn't have to end that way between you and them. You deserve a better goodbye or maybe a fresh start or explanation. Maybe it'll help." She shrugged then opened her eyes. "You have control over this Danny. You can either make the memories better or keep them how they are and stay looking like a total wreck."
Why are you here? || Danny
âJust a day.â He said softly, his voice sounded dead and even monotone. He tried to cheer up, after all, he was with his sister who hadnât seen in months. He followed her without questioning, he walked up the steps with her. He hadnât even looked up, this was better right? Bray would want him to at least be with his sister, somewhere safe. Somewhere he wasnât going to get hurt. He realized she had grabbed his healthy hand, he was thankful for that.Â
He took a seat on the couch and then looked back up at her. He could see it then, the small bump on her stomach. He couldnât help but stare, then a small smile turned into a big grin. Danny for the moment forgot everything else that was on his mind. âIâm sorry.â He shook his head and looked down still smiling. âI just, I guess I havenât seen you so long. Itâs noticeable now. You look really beautiful Carmen.â He glanced up at her, âYou have a different glow about you. Itâs amazing.â He smiled and nodded, looking back down.Â
Danny shook his head, âIâm not hungry. Iâm not anything right now.â He sighed, âIâm not even suppose to be here. Brayden doesnât know where I am and heâs probably worried as hell but I canât go back yet.â He swallowed. âA young boy came and got me⌠he got me because Jared was in the h-hospital.â He put his hand over his forehead as he put his elbow on his knee, resting against it. The tears were coming back, he couldnât cry in front of Carmen, he knew he shouldnât, so he held them back and just shook his head. âI shouldnât h-have came. I shouldnât haveâŚâ Carmen had yet to see him in this state, Darius had seen him almost at his worst but all Carmen knew was when he was angry or happy. He just couldnât help it, he had an ache in his heart. âThen⌠everything I couldnât remember, just came back⌠out of all the fucking times⌠today.âÂ
Carmen looked down at her stomach and smiled. "When he noticed he teared up." She looked up at her brother. "Thanks, Danny." Looking back down she messed with the hem to her shirt. She walked back over to him taking a seat on the couch beside him and listened. He stuttered on a few words here and there and she heard the way his voice cracked, especially after bringing Jared up. Funny how Danny dated him and how she used to have a crush on him when she was younger. Jared was a pain but he was still really sweet. She swallowed, nodding.Â
It was painful seeing him so hurt but she managed to keep calm. Carmen moved closer to him and brought and arm around him as she pulled him into a hug. "This young boy.. He happen to be Jared's cousin?" If he said yes she knew who would be the cause of Jared being in the hospital. Though it was quite obvious already. She wasn't happy about it, not one bit, but there wasn't much she could do unless she wanted to end up dead. She bit her bottom lip lightly in thought. A talk wouldn't be bad though. At least Jared was in the hospital and safe now. "He's still hurt.. isn't he?" she asked, her voice was soft.
"I know.. memories hurt and reliving the past sucks but what happened back then helped build who you are today. You're strong, Danny, and brave. You're sweet and you're loved." She kissed the top of his head then pressed her cheek to it. "It'll all be okay with time, I promise. And Danny.. you don't have to hold back your tears. It's okay to cry when you need to."
Why are you here? || Danny
It wasnât that hard to survive by himself. He had ran away once, he had ran away so far no one knew. He wasnât sure he was going to come back, but something in him made him return. When he did, Darius had babyed him so much. Yet he had lived. He had survived by running and eating what he could. He felt free during those times, that was when he was bit. Maybe thatâs what made Danny return. The feeling of not knowing what to do and knowing he had someone who did. Yet this return was for a different reason, it was to make sure someone was okay. It wasnât selfish for once but the encounter did more harm than good. He leaned against a tree, his clothes stuck to his frame, still wet. He would probably get sick, he knew he had a fever but he didnât pay much mind to it. It would go away, he had a strong immune system that would fight it off with time.Â
Danny remembered the way he felt when he was younger. Alone. Hurt. He hated himself yet again. He hated this place so much and all the memories he wished he wouldâve never remembered. A part of him wished that Jared had given up on him. He wished that he wouldâve stayed away. Let him find his memory on his own, now those memories hit him hard. So many did that he didnât recall until now. Jared. Lily. Zelena. Trixxie. So many people had left. He didnât blame Jared and Lily to be honest. He wouldâve left too, he would hate himself too were he them, but a part of him wondered why Zelena and Trixxie left so easily. All night Danny didnât sleep, instead he was running different things through his mind, different memories that had been kept at bay until now. Each memory hurt and cut deeper than the last. How he loathed himself right now.Â
Hogwarts nights replayed in his mind where he stayed up in his dorm, just laying there and staring at the ceiling. He had always felt out of place. He had always felt alone to the point where he got to just flirting and using people because he felt empty. He didnât care for anyone but himself. Because in the end, he only had himself but in the end, he had only himself to blame. He was the whole reason why he was alone. He had pushed people away, afraid. He had distanced himself and it got to be too much, he didnât return for his 5th year. No, there was no reason to anymore. He stood up and bit down on his lower lip, his eyes felt swollen, he probably had dark shadows under them. Again he wandered. They say not everyone who wanders is lost⌠but he was lost. He was lost in a world that wasnât his own anymore. He didnât want to go home to the questions. What would he say? He hadnât even checked his phone, Danny felt like a lost puppy. The wolf within him howled out in pain. He let his feet take him wherever. They dragged a bit against the cold, wet floor.Â
This is all your fault, you have no one to blame but yourself, and if you keep this up⌠youâre going to loose them too. Bray and Iris, the ones that have given you everything you ever wanted. Acceptance above all. He closed his eyes, âI know⌠I knowâŚâ His hand was still badly swollen and even looked infected but it didnât hurt which surprised him. He then saw a figure up ahead, he kept his gaze down. He didnât really want to interact with anyone else and prayed it wasnât someone he knew. He then heard his name being called out, âDanny!â He glanced up quickly, suddenly someone crashed into his arms. He swallowed and then realized it was Carmen. Quickly his arms came to wrap around her, he hadnât seen her in so long. He cleared his throat to speak, âI-I didnât even know I was going to come. It was unexpected.â When she pulled back, he ignored her question of what was wrong. So much was wrong that he couldnât even put into words, âSurprise?â The cloak covered most of her frame so he couldnât really recognize her at first, but her voice was one heâd always know. After all, she was his sister. Who he loved with all his heart but had to force himself out her life and let her be free. He didnât really know what to tell her, âI came to see Jared in the hospital, but he hates me so yeah, oh plus, I kinda got more memories back. Painful ones, so I donât want to go home⌠but on the bright side, I saw a little bunny last night. It was the cutest thing.â Yeah. That wouldnât work out that great.
She looked over him, a soft sigh escaping her. Carmen took her brother's hand in her own and turned leading him to Avery's house. "You look a mess. How long have you been here?" She looked back at him for a moment then back forward. He looked terrible, like he'd been crying, like he was up all night. It wasn't the way she expected on seeing him again. She always imagined him smiling and having this glow to him but he didn't and it hurt her. She thought that him leaving, going where he belonged he'd be happy and yet he looked depressed and lost.
Part of her wondered how he even got here, in the wizard world. Someone had to have brought him back, but who? Even then it was still strange to have found him so close to Avery's home. To her home. Danny didn't know where they lived. Carmen gave his hand a slight squeeze. There wasn't much talking between them while she pulled him along back to the house. She hoped Avery was still asleep, she didn't want them arguing or anything. With the way Danny looked she knew he'd snap easily and the two would possibly end up fighting until she tore them away from each other.
Carmen went up the few steps pulling him along still. She opened the front door leading him in then sitting him down on the couch. She turned away taking her cloak off and hanging it back up. "Are you hungry? I can make you a sandwich or something." She turned to him and gave him a small smile. She was glad that she went for that short walk, glad that Avery was asleep. Carmen knew that Danny and him didn't really get along very well. "What are you staring at?"
Why are you here? || Danny
Things had been calm lately, at least for her. There was no sign of Joseph. Savannah and Parker would visit once in a while. She wasn't so afraid of Savannah, not much anymore. She was always nice to her, besides when she had to cut ties with Stefen. It was funny how excited Savannah had gotten when she found out Carmen was pregnant. The way her eyes lit up and her hand instantly reached out towards her stomach. In a way Savannah was like a second mother to her, only because of Parker. If it wasn't for him she would have been the youngest one in the group of death eaters.
Carmen looked over at Avery who lay soundly asleep. A soft smile forming. He spent a lot of time still fixing up the nursery and trying to make it perfect for their child. She gently stroked his cheek then leaned down and kissed his head softly before she moved out of bed. He was so protective of her, especially after he found out her and his father had ran into each other. Carmen didn't mind it much, she just hated how she always had to have someone with her whenever she wanted to go out for a walk.
She slipped on her shoes and grabbed her cloak. She loved that thing even though it often freaked many out and made them avoid her. Carmen looked back at Avery then quietly made her way to the front door. Jesse was back at school, the house was quieter than usual. There wasn't a lot of laughter like usual, or someone to annoy. She got lonely sometimes, especially when Avery would go grocery shopping and things like that. She went every now and then but she didn't like the way people would stare at her and whisper because she was finally showing. There was a little bump, noticeable with how tiny she looked and she loved that. She was always staring in the mirror with her shirt up so she could stare at her stomach. She was happy and didn't regret it one bit, but when someone would stare, when someone would whisper she knew they were negative comments and it made her feel horrible.
Her hand set on her stomach lightly and she sighed making her way down the street. She didn't know there had been a storm last night, then again she was too busy watching movies and playing some video games with Avery to notice much of anything. She hadn't wandered that far until she saw someone walking. Not being able to make out their face she was a bit cautious when continuing forward. Carmen squinted, she knew it was a male even when he was far away but when he got closer a bright smile slowly made it's way onto her face. "Danny!" She squealed and ran over to him. She was sure to slow down right before she brought her arms around him into a tight hug. His clothes felt wet, which she guessed was from the night before. It'd been months since she'd seen her older brother, since she told him about her being pregnant. "Why are you here? Why didn't tell me you'd be here? You smell like a wet dog Danny." She pulled out of the hug. "What's wrong?"

The laughter had stopped and she dropped her hands. Carmen glanced over at the two right before Ryos had flung him. She ran over to Ryos hugging him tight. She didnât even reply to his question. Carmen was glad he was okay and in one piece though, unlike her nightmares. Her hands grabbed at his shirt and she buried her face into his chest. She wanted to punch for scaring her, but she decided not to. Carmen just clung to him. Though Josephâs laughter wouldnât leave her, it was still ringing in her ears. If Avery found out about this, she wasnât quite sure how heâd react, even if he didnât touch her. She closed her eyes again, everything he said about their kid now replaying in her head. What if he was right?
Ryos wiped off the remaining blood with the back of his hand, he looked up at her and didnât have time to react when she was clinging to him. He wrapped his arms around her, if he hadnât shown Merlin knows what wouldâve happened. He ran his hands through her hair, âHey, hey, itâs okay, Iâm here, I told you I had this, did you doubt that Iâd be alright?â He kissed her head and then just held her there for a moment, he looked forward, âDonât listen to the git, youâll be an amazing mother and a child being born a werewolf is very very slim, trust me.. â He looked down at her, âDonât let his words bother you.â
She shook her head. The chances may have been slim but knowing her luck she'd be one of those who just so happened to have a child be born a werewolf. Carmen teared up again, this time not even trying to hold them back. Her bottom lip quivered. If there was a feeling she wish she didn't have, it'd be this one. She felt horrible. What if Joseph was right though? What if she was a horrible mother? She could barely even control her feelings anymore, maybe it was just with the Jones family. Carmen swallowed, tightening her arms around him. "Don't you dare scare me like that again."
Ryos pulled him up and then slammed him down hard again, leaning down, he kept his hand on his neck, he leaned into look at him, âIâll let you live, I donât know why, but Iâll let you leave, maybe give this moment to Avery whoâs so long been wanting to tear you apart, limb by limb, and if you come near my daughter, if you come anywhere near my grandchild and if you so come near Jesse again when Iâm around, I wonât be patient, I will personally yank out your vocal chords, skin you and let the wind blow on you, making you scream in pure agony, then I wonât kill you, Iâll just leave you there, to die a slow and very, very painful death.â He nodded with a smile, âMaybe Iâll even make you blow up inside out, I always did love that Potion and it would be such a good use, now.. Iâll be nice and Iâll use your ancient magic which most of the older generation does in fact know and Iâll apparate you to your last location, you better pray we donât run into each other again, pray hard to Merlin, because next time.â He paused, âI wonât be so kind.â His words were cold and merciless, he was angry, more than just angry. He was enraged. He closed his eyes and then flung him, letting him disappear mid air before he walked over and picked up his wand, stuffing it in his pocket, he looked at her, âYou okay?â His tone had changed and was now soft and considerate.Â
The laughter had stopped and she dropped her hands. Carmen glanced over at the two right before Ryos had flung him. She ran over to Ryos hugging him tight. She didn't even reply to his question. Carmen was glad he was okay and in one piece though, unlike her nightmares. Her hands grabbed at his shirt and she buried her face into his chest. What if he was right?
Blood trickled down his head and his vision was fading in and out, but he readied himself, he then looked at Joseph and spit blood out in his face with a laugh, âIs that all you got? Please, my son could hit better than you and thatâs saying something!â He then reached out and cupped his hands, aiming at his ears, he slammed in quickly, he then fell on the floor, he spit out blood and wiped off his lips, standing up, he walked to him, looking down, he probably couldnât hear and he wouldnât be able to for a while, he pushed him down and stepped down on his throat, pushing down without any mercy. âItâs been a while since Iâve killed a man, last man I killed begged me for his life, maybe Iâll wait until you do the same.â He pushed down even more, clenching his fists tightly. âYou mess with my girl and my boy, you mess with me, and that ainât gonna happen, youâre not gonna win.â He then leaned down and punched him.Â
âYou pathetic piece of shit!â He then shook his head, the mere fact he spit on him disgusted him, beyond reason. An immense pain surged through his being and he suddenly dropped him, he fell to his knees and only heard ringing in his ears, he couldnât hear, he couldnât hear a thing that was going on around him, only that annoying ringing, it was driving him mad. Joseph found himself on the ground, looking up at him, he didnât know what he was saying but all that he did was laugh, he began to laugh loudly, it was almost sort of an insane laugh and when he punched him, the laugh just increased.
She closed her eyes looking away. Seeing the blood brought back bad memories that she had thought she forgot. The way Ryos reacted didn't surprise her and the way he was protective of her just like every didn't even shock her. She knew it was because of how she made Avery feel, the way she made him happy. Then she heard it. His laughter. It sent chills down her spine. How creepy it sounded, like he was mad, and in her mind she could see that smirk there on his face. Carmen hadn't met a guy like that before, one so insane, and the chances were rare to have even ran into Joseph. She knew now why Avery was so worried about Jesse and her even getting near him. The man was pretty much heartless. Carmen covered her ears to try and drown out his laughter but it was no use. She couldn't hear herself think.

Ryos had developed a soft soft for her, he didnât quite know why himself, she reminded him so much of her mother when she was younger, Ryos even though he never showed it was actually very fond of Jaime, he loved having her around and the way Leeane and her giggled over the stupidest things, it made him laugh. Back when he had more of a heart, he glanced over his shoulder, âDonât worry kiddo, I got this.â He turned back to him, âThe ancient ways huh? Of course I know about them, I always used to sneak into the restricted section at the library. You think I fear you? What is there to fear but a lonesome man whoâs so broken over his wife leaving him for a Professorâ ooh, it hurts doesnât it? Sting almost. Mm. Itâs like adding salt and lemon to a wound, do I hear a sizzle? Was that a burn? Poor, poor man.â He smirked.
âIâm not sure. Why donât you tell me if it hurts.â He extended his hand and then put his other hand over his arm, twisting his hand to the left suddenly, he clenched it into a fist and flung his arm, suddenly Ryos was thrown into a tree, he looked at Carmen, âIâll deal with you later and donât even try to use your wand, itâs not going to work.â He smirked and then walked to Ryos, grabbing him by the neck, he lifted him, tilting his head, âMy, my, my, didnât my boy just tell you everything? You are everyoneâs hero arenât you? But apparently from what Iâve seen you canât even take care of your own son, arenât we all just hypocrites!?â He smashed his head against the tree and laughed, âNot so tough now are we?â
A giggle escaped her from Ryos' reply. She couldn't help it. There was a bit of a relief when he had shown up but she didn't want him hurt because of her. She was responsible for many other things and she didn't want that to weigh her down either. Carmen reach out for Ryos when Joseph snatched him from her. "Let him go!" Her voice cracked and she was starting to tear up. It was frightening how a nightmare had just become reality.
She stepped back without even thinking. He was starting to get to her and she knew it was what he wanted. Joseph just kept going and making it worse. Carmen moved her hand to her wand, better safe than sorry. She looked up at him, âjust because you come around and see me eating that, doesnât mean itâs the only thing Iâve eaten all day.â She squinted, glaring at him slightly. Her fingers curled around her wand. âAt least Iâd be a better parent than you.â
âTwice the better parent, much much better.â Ryos closed his eyes and nodded, he then walked to Carmenâs side and tilted his head, scrunching his nose a bit, âI sense we have a bit of a cunt here, I suggest you stay away from her or youâll have to deal with me, and Iâm not reluctant to pull out my wand and avada kedavra your ass. Youâve ruined Averyâs life quite enough. At least when Leeane was having Jared, I wasnât THAT much of a douche, I let the kid live.â He tilted his head, âI suggest you go now.â
He looked up at the man and then scoffed. âWell, if it isnât Averyâs big strong super hero dad?â His eyes scanned over him, âAre you sure? You all are pathetic, still needing those stupid little wands.â He chuckled, âI donât need a wand.â He lifted his hand and aimed it at Ryos, he then tilted it and caught his wand in his hand, âWeird how dependent people become of these when thereâs really no use for them. If you learn the way of our ancestors, wands were created to keep power in check, even some muggles know much better than all of you.â He smirked at the duo.Â
She blinked and looked up at Ryos. Carmen moved behind him holding onto his sleeve like Nadia would do when she was shy. "P-papa be careful." she whispered. Â It was odd how close she had gotten to Jared's father, after hearing that he was a terrible guy from Jared. Though that wasn't the case, he was always nice to her, and they often joked about Avery together, which didn't amuse him at all but they always had fun. Ryos had taken her father's place, though she didn't even know her father. Her grip on his sleeve got tighter and she tugged at it wanting him to leave while he could.
