I know this is supposedly negative but tbh, does it matter?

There’s a housing crisis, so people ending their lives while living in properties that can be used immediately when they pass, doesn’t seem like a terrible thing to me. Why don’t we create some communities for lone pensioners that are renting? Like those towns they have in Florida just for the oldies, yknow?

Ofc I hope they are able to afford the rent (with gov support if necessary) and they don’t have shitty landlords (gov’s resondibilty to police well, which ifc is a problem in itself 😤) and if so, I don’t see an issue.

Holding on to property to pass down to relatives is a significant contributor to the perpetuation of the outdated UK ‘class system’ and in 2026 it’s time to stop putting so much weight on ‘ownership’. Particularly when billionaires are buying up so much property but not reselling in preparation for ‘development’ of areas that are actually being gentrified; that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to own in the first place (I don’t even need to mention salary/inflation do I).

There is a stigma that you’re not ‘grown up’ or successful unless you own your own property and I’m over it because it’s not the fucking 50’s anymore 🙄

Also it’s the boomers that are pensioners now, a lot of them have been unnecessarily shitty to their kids (often, surrounding income/finanace/judgemt of ability to ‘adult’) Maybe if they were nicer, their now adult kids would let them live in their houses with them instead of being forced to rent…But that’s just a theory 😜

They ruined the economy (and still are, it’s old fools that are in power, remember) with little consideration for future generations. So why tf should we care that they have to rent? Plenty of them have been hoarding wealth, let them use it. we’ve learned how to make our own money (yeh we ‘got a job’ they’re just not all in offices anymore, duh.) and inheritances aren’t guaranteed or necessarily life-changing, particularly with multi-sibling families. They didn’t care when we were telling them we couldn’t even afford a house by 40 because of their insane capitalism and political nonsense we’ve had forced upon us…

Like the process of imagining + creating it, manufacturing and publicity etc is not short…must be boring to look at the same collection after a while, let alone then be expected to wear it (or even older collections) CONSTANTLY.

Imagine expecting someone that loves fashion enough to design it; to temper their own choice of clothing because it’s ’bad marketing’ 🤯🤣

It’s super interesting to see how a designer styles themself using other brands, no? Furthermore, Should they not help market their ‘competitors’ if they like the product? particularly if they are cordial or even friends in their personal lives….
