Back for some rants.
So, its been quite some time sinceΒ I've been in the Tumblr-verse and the powers that be were kind enough to send me an email reminding me I still had a little place on the interwebs.
Lord knows that I have more than enough to rant about since I was last there but I plan on keeping a lot to myself. With today'sΒ βcancel cultureβ I don't want something I rant (or rave for that matter) about to be misconstrude to taken our of context.Β
One thing I do have to rant about is the seemingly endless governmental intrusion thanks to COVID. America was founded, in part, for freedom of speech, freedom of movement, free commerce, etc. but it seems to me, and many, many others, that the government, specifically on the State level, is trying to sequester many of these basic rights that all American citizens are entitled to.
And what about the basic right to an education? As we are in what many are seeing as a βsecond waveβ of COVID, schools are being shut down in favor of virtual learning.Β School provides are kids with more than an education and the virtual edition is three steps below horrible. Plus, many parents are now forced in to an impossible chasm that requires them to choose between work and a paycheck and their kids education. All this while the school administrators are working remotely and being paid....in some cases more that deserved. Maybe if they can't go to work, their salaries should be pro-rated. If a parent has to stay home and aren't being paid this sounds only fair. Β I realize that isn't a popular viewpoint but its mine and Iβm entitled to it.Β Β
