ANGKOR PHOTO TRAVEL GRANT - PHILIPPINES

This Grant is available for one Philippine-based Photographer who has been selected to attend 2016 Angkor Photo Workshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia (December 1-10).

The Grant will provide the recipient with $500 to help cover a return flight from the Philippines to Siem Reap, food expenses, and local transport cost incurred during the workshop.  Additionally, the Grant recipient will receive a one-year mentorship with any photographer from the Angkor alumnae from the Philippines and have his/her work featured on Invisible Photographer Asia (IPA).

In addition, the Filipino photographers who will attend the Angkor Workshop will vie for The Project Development Grant. All participating photographers should have completed the Angkor Photo Festival Workshop to be able to qualify for the grant.

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements:

TRAVEL GRANT

1.) The participating Photographer must be from the Philippines.

2.) Eligibility is based on selection to participate at Angkor Photo Workshop. Please visit here to apply by July 1.

3.) 2 weeks after selection results have been announced, prospective Philippine-based photographer/s must also submit:

A portfolio with maximum 20 images including any applicable captions and summary in IPTC or metadata. (Image Size: 2,000 pixels on longer side / 72dpi / JPG format / Medium quality (8).

A one-page statement reasoning why they should receive the travel grant.

4.) One week after Grant submission deadline, Kevin WY Lee, Founder of Invisible Photographer Asia, will select one photographer from the Philippines to receive this Grant based on his/her portfolio.

5.) The grant recipient must give regular updates of their progress during the workshop via their personal Instagram or Facebook account or thru their personal blogs.

6.) Two weeks after the Workshop, the Grant recipient must submit their photo series that they shot during Workshop and a one-page summary of their experience for publication on IPA. The photographer will retain copyright to their photographs.

7.) The Grant recipient must attend the 2016 Angkor Photo Workshop for the full period of December 1–10.  If Grant recipient is unable to attend, the grant will be forfeited and given to the runner-up.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT GRANT

1.) The participants from the Philippines who attended the 2016 Angkor Photo Festival workshop will be eligible for one project development grant worth of up to $1000.00 USD.

Requirements:

• One-page project proposal on what topic and they will pursue and a rough estimate of costs that will be incurred for the project. The project/proposal is encouraged but not limited to focus on stories/issues in the Philippines.

• The portfolio/project they have produced during the Angkor Photo Festival workshop with maximum 20 images including any applicable captions and summary in IPTC or metadata. (Image Size: 2,000 pixels on longer side / 72dpi / JPG format / Medium quality (8).

2.) The selected project/proposal should be produced within a period of 120 days. The photographer will be working with a group of mentors from Asia while developing the project.

50% of the fund will be released to the photographer at the start of the grant period and the remaining 50% upon submission of the set requirements.

The final project should consist of:

•15-20 image selection (complete with necessary Metadata for each image)

• One-page text to accompany the project.

• A blog-post that shares the process behind the production of the project.

The judges for the Project Development Grant will be announced in August.

The panel will be comprised of professionals from the Asian region as well as representatives from the Angkor Photo festival committee.
